My sister Kayla is funny, loves to explore, loves the beach, is a hard worker, an amazing sister, a loving daughter, an incredible friend. In 2018, at age 23, she was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease along with 5+ co-ienfections. She never had a bullseye rash, never knew where she got bit, or when, and has had to fight this debilitating illness for over 7 years.

I could have had her talk about her story and journey for 10 hours. She has seen a plethora of doctors, tried so many treatments, had so many supplements, traveled out of state for specialists, and is slowly getting healthier.

You will get a glimpse of the symptoms she experienced and continues to experience. You will hear a small portion of her story, and her path forward. You also will hear her drive, her unwillingness to give up, and her ability to begin a new chapter of life.

Lyme is no joke - it is a horrible, horrible disease - and it really is a silent illness. Those with Lyme may look healthy- but their entire world is crumbling.

Today's episode I debut my cow pants. I talk through the night prior where things did not go the way I had planned, and I was taught my own lesson of - it's not that deep. It can feel so easy to just give in and get upset when things do not work out the way you planned. Having people in your life to bring you back down to earth - important. I also go on a tangent on the word 'pivot' and my gripe with the sitcom 'Friends'. Which obviously leads me into talking about my experience getting on anti depressants- isn't that a normal path? You can usually make time for the things you want to do - I was grieving, dammit! So recording at my apartment is a first, not a last but at least I was comfy cozy. My Grandma Claire passed away this Friday 2/28. She was a constant in my life, and I am so lucky to have had her in mine for so long. This episode is about navigating my way through this huge loss. I got phished again and had to take another training, clearly I am an asset to my company. I am back from Denver and recap one of my highlights from the trip, getting a jacket from a unique vintage shop. Only to find out its available on Amazon. I just went to the library so I obviously am talking a little Matilda. Was the chokey THAT bad? Understanding fiction vs non fiction is extremely difficult for me and it always has been. Shouldn’t fiction mean true and then non fiction mean NOT TRUE? Why does fiction mean false and then non fiction means …. NOT FALSE??? Call the cops omg. What's Not That Deep is getting worked up about when people (who you don't know) leave negative comments (that aren't true) on your posts. I talk through in a hilarious manner why I think these people are freak-a-leeks, and how to not get bogged down when people comment or criticize. The jist? They don't know you. The other jist? They're literally scrolling trying to spread negativity, thats seriously so embarassing :/
