I have plenty of excuses for not having a proper podcast episode done for this week, but let's go with this one: New Century is a great audio drama series and I haven't given it a signal boost in a while. And since I became a big enough fan to actually wind up playing a character or two in it, it seems like this was overdue. So prepare yourself for a cascading torrent of plugs. (I'll spare you the fanboy gushing for now)

If you're unsure where to start, there's now an introductory episode giving overviews of the first phase of stories in the series.

The current and (so far) funniest story in New Century, The Princess Thieves, is still in-progress and available to listen to for free on the New Century podcast feed, which can be found by clicking that link or searching for New Century on iTunes. If you've never listened before, it's a pretty good place to start.

The Cartographer's Handbook, Secret Rooms, Tiger's Eye, and Arlington have all been completed and can be found as audiobooks on Band Camp. The first three are also out as eBooks on Amazon (for all you weirdos who like to look at words with your eyes), with Arlington due to be released soon.

If hell is other people, Tinder is an eldritch gateway to the ninth circle vomiting flames, brimstone, and despair. A gateway that I inexplicably decided to go back and install on my phone again because hey, maybe it's not as bad as I remember.

I think I finally figured it out. Just like the section titled The Shark having a shark that died in the very next chapter, the whole big scary orca premise was a total bait-and-switch. The titular orca is actually the hero of this book, and Jack Campbell is the monster. It's kind of like Moby Dick if Moby Dick was much smaller scale, and the book lacked a moral center, a sense of tension, a straightforward well-crafted plot, fascinating characters, or literary quality of any kind.

Hey, at least Jack's not actively thinking about sex with his sister anymore, right? Maybe this is the start of an interesting character arc. Probably not, but maybe.

Jack Campbell and company have been all over New England hunting a great white shark. Without a catch, they'll lose their marina. Their search is about to end, but will they have what it takes to bring the beast back alive? Will they fail and meet their demise at sea? Or will fate (and maybe a hot marine biologist) intervene?

After giving it a few weeks to lie cold and dead, the controversy over The Walking Dead's Season 6 finale has reanimated and is here to gnaw on your brains in our latest discussion episode. Jess, Becca and I take a barb-wire-wrapped bat to the head of the episode's shocking ending, while still taking time to speculate about whose head was really on the proverbial chopping block. We also get into all the things we liked about this past season and the show in general, compare and contrast a bit with the comics, and talk about a lot of other stuff I forgot about.
