In episode 2, Okannawa discusses her personal insecurities and the effect they’ve had on her self-esteem, relationships, and daily life. She also covers her journey with going to therapy because of these insecurities and past experiences and her struggle to maintain romantic relationships. Insecurities, such as weight and skin, sometimes makes people feel less deserving and less lovable. However, Okannawa says that “It’s ok to be insecure, it’s ok to not like things about yourself, but don’t focus on things you can’t control.” At the end of the day, we all have things we probably wish we could change, but it’s important to remember that these things don’t define us and don’t make us worth any less. Instead, remember that you are equally as deserving of opportunities and relationships, and that it is important to work towards reflecting a positive mindset and confident attitude that shows that.
