An apology is more than just "I'm sorry." We all hate it when someone "apologizes" to us, but judging from their tone and expression we know that they didn't mean it. 

If we were to turn and look at ourselves, can we honestly say that when we apologize to God it's sincere? If it is, are our actions lining up with our words?

In today's session to Note to Self Diaries, I dissect what it means to truly apologize to God and I also share the one thing we can do to keep ourselves from repeating our offenses.

I think the simplicity of God intimidates a lot of us. I can't blame us because we were either taught or we witnessed first hand that in order to be close to God, we have to "perform"- you know, the jumping up and down, the screaming, the speaking in tongues... we didn't learn that what God really wants from us is for us to involve Him in our decision making, for us to run to Him first when we need to vent. 

In today's session of Note to Self Diaries I remind you that we don't have to "do the most" to be loved by God or to have a relationship with Him.

Today's session comes as a PSA: YOU HAVE TO GET INTO FIGHT MODE.

You've made too many sacrifices and put in too much work, to let your efforts go down for nothing.

The enemy doesn't want to see you cross that finish. That's why he's been throwing distractions, and temptations, and discouragement your way. Now that the answered prayer, the promotion, the blessing, is around the corner, he's going to try everything to get you to quit, but you can't let him win. You have to get into fight mode so you can cross that finish line.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but asking for help will not get you 25 years to life in prison- it is not a crime. 

If we didn't need help to accomplish our goals or get to the next level, God, in all His wisdom, wouldn't bless us with teachers, and coaches, and trainers, and mentors.

There's more to loving yourself than spa days and "catching flights not feelings."

We need to live a little and do more of what makes us happy and brings us joy.
