  • S2 Ep10 - Tools for Resilience: Compassionate Leadership

Compassionate Leadership. How to energise your workforce, create legacy, improve collaboration and reduce attrition.

In this episode we'll be examining compassion as positive action based on understanding - and the huge difference this can make to leadership. The  Great Resignation, dissatisfaction, churn, poor performance - as a leader the first question we have to ask is what environment has been created that enables this person to perform poorly or want to leave the situation. Understanding the positive elements of vulnerability, self-awareness and compassion helps leaders to deliver a positive impact on their workplace cultures, generate more resilience and improved performance too.

  • S2 EP9 - Tools for Resilience: Why It's Time to Stop Being So Nice

Niceness vs kindness. What would you choose?

Niceness is a safety strategy that many of us have used as a way to stay safe in the world. It trains us to put others' wants, needs and desires ahead of our own. But it also damages our experience of our lives and our connections, whether that's because we're people pleasing, being passive aggressive or hiding who we are.

In this episode we'll be looking at niceness vs kindness, the impact of the culture we live in and how we internalise ideas of what we're allowed to do and not allowed to do, as well as the process of reclamation of true self that comes from dropping kindness -  and the deep inner peace that brings. At the end of the day, all of us just want to be who we are.

  • S2 Ep 8 Tools for Resilience: Rethinking The Menopause

Did you know some women find menopause the most liberating time of life? Or that the peri-menopause can last for 10 years? The menopause and the peri-menopause still remain a mystery for many of us - and the language often used around them can make this natural life change feel very vulnerable. The lack of information around options and experiences hasn't exactly helped either.

In this episode we're looking at rethinking the menopause, especially how it's different for all of us and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. If you're curious about the menopause or peri menopause this is the episode for you.

  • S2 Ep7 - Tools for Resilience: Highly Sensitive People

"You're so sensitive.." As many as 1/3 of us are Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), meaning that we feel things more intensely, have a more in-tune nervous system and can feel easily overstimulated. 50% of men and 50% of women are HSPs. In the right hands - and when you know how to work with it - being an HSP is a HUGE attribute.

In this episode we'll explore what it means to be an HSP - how you can be an extrovert or an introvert HSP, for example - as well as the tools to cope with the overwhelm and how to make being an HSP a source of strength, confidence and a way to thrive.

  • S2 Ep6 - Tools for Resilience: Overcoming the Inner Cynic

Cynicism  keeps us stuck and stops us from showing up in the world as who we really are in case that’s too much for people. Your Inner Cynic is an internalised control system that someone else has used on you in the past to keep you small. Which is why overcoming it can be so liberating - and is so vital to a more resilient life.

  • S2 Ep 5 - Tools for Resilience: Why We Should Play More

Play keeps your brain young, makes you more confident, productive and better at dealing with uncertainty. So why don't we do more of it? It feels incredibly vulnerable to reveal your playful side - and giving yourself permission and time to play as an adult is almost a revolutionary act in a world that prizes busyness and fitting in.

In this episode we're going to be looking at how to make more time for play (including how to get the most from it) - and why it's so beneficial for your body and mind to do it.

  • S2 Ep4 - Tools for Resilience: The Power of Trust

Trust is an intense and powerful human motivator. And it can also be something that feels vulnerable, especially if you have experience of trust being broken.  But being resilient requires a leap of faith or two -  adjusting how we feel about trust can have a big impact on that.

In this episode we're exploring the power of trust in many ways, from trusting the timing of your life to trusting yourself again when you've tried and failed and learning how to trust internal guidance instead of being reliant on external factors.

Are you a freelancer looking to find ways to be more adaptable, flexible and able to trust? Check out this workshop.
