Welcome to Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gamed, where we are starting a short term campaign of 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, using the new Spelljammer rules!  As Jared needs a small break from our Wrath of the Righteous game while adding a new addition to the NVNG Family, Fabio is taking the reigns of the GM chair to run SPELLJAMMER!

Still reeling from our encounter with the strange creatures sent to injure the headmaster, we must continue our training.  But rumors are starting to circulate, and our names are soon to be known amongst the other cadets.  One such cadet is Miken, an aspiring spelljammer pilot with whom we have a meeting with just before we take on our first real, not real spell jamming mission/training.  With our hands placed on the wheel of an artificial spelljammer, our choices will determine our fate!

Once we delivered the crate to the head of the Spelljammer academy, the crate exploded out with strange creatures, with the intention of killing, or severely injuring the Headmaster!  With the quick action, and a lot of luck, the party managed to dispatch the spider creatures, and save the Headmaster, but while the guards came in just in the nick of time, it was discovered that this was mostly a distraction for another theft in the academy.  But after that, the training must continue, and this is when we go to the mess hall, and get some strange looks from our class mates.

Finally, with the assistance of Nell to break her compatriots out of the mental hold of the alien creature, and the mighty spellcasting from a wizened, and elder Sortok the party was able to break out of the strange realm, and into another, filled with strange glowing crystal stones, and a gigantic egg, which seems to be drawing energy into itself.  The party soon finds that this egg is being protected by a large Serpent type creature, and the battle has begun!

Currently in a test of wills, the party has had an encounter with a strange beast from the outer realms, and is unsure of the ultimate intent of this creature, and with most of the party succumbing to the mental degradation of this tentacled beast, are unable to think clearly.  Only Sortok the wizard, and Nell the Inquisitor have their right minds about them, but another hurdle for the party is that this realm acts very  differently than the realm for which out party is native to, even the mear thought can become reality here, to dangerous affect.  Sometimes even magic that is thought to be mundane acts very strangly here, as Sortok will find out, but with some quick thinking on Nell's part, she was able to break the mental hold of the creature long enough to release her friends from their haze.  But will it be enough?

Our last episode had the party enter a strange realm of chaos, where thought can become reality, but soon after their experimentation of this effect, they drew something dangerous to them, like a moth to the flame!  The party tries to understand the pure chaos of the realm, while keeping their sanity, and surviving, while a giant tentacle monster toys with their existence, blocking their path.  Does the party get a handle on the crazed thought driven realm, and escape the tentacle beast, or does the chaos drive them to insanity, where they will be trapped in, forever?!
