Baby Keem has been on a tear lately, releasing tracks that all feel like their building up to something. Keem continues that run here, connecting with Travis Scott to deliver their new song, “Durag Activity.” Paired with a gradient brown cover that matches the aesthetic of other songs he’s dropped this year and prior, Keem and Travis both take turns talking about things they describe to be “durag activity,” playing on the name of the song. Distorted piano chords are laid behind their bars, creating a smooth sound that can be heard on other Keem songs. Keem also shared the music video for the track. The reception to Returnal has been generally positive, with critics especially praising its atmosphere and unique blend of elements, while some have dinged it for sharp difficulty spikes and runs feeling repetitive. Several reviewers have also noted how it makes especially great use of the PS5 DualSense's haptics. "Returnal is a hard game to pin down," Mike Epstein wrote in GameSpot's Returnal review. Khaled Khaled will be the follow-up project to Father of Asahd, which was released in 2019 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The song "Higher," featuring John Legend and Nipsey Hussle, from the album earned DJ Khaled his first Grammy at the 2020 Grammy Awards for best rap/sung performance. DJ Khaled (real name Khaled Mohamed Khaled) announced Tuesday that he will release his new album this Friday via We the Best Music, Epic and Roc Nation. He listed his sons and album cover stars Asahd Tuck Khaled and Aalam Tuck Khaled, as well as himself and Allah, as executive producers of the album.

Cordae came into the game with a ton of potential and lived up to that immense promise with his 2019 full-length debut, The Lost Boy, earning acclaim for his thoughtful and inspirational lyrics. After dropping off a pair of singles in 2020, the DMV native has released an especially potent quick EP titled Just Until…., and Twitter is has given the project a stamp of approval. In an interview last year, Cordae said he was hard at work on his sophomore project but apparently realized he had enough in the stash to feed the streets with the four-pack he just let loose. Just Until…. opens with “More Life,” featuring Q-Tip on the hook and production from Eric Hudson. Cordae makes sure to shout out his tennis superstar girlfriend Naomi Osaka via a line that will definitely turn some heads. Using his ability to tell stories and provide strong narrative structure in his verses, Cordae closed out the EP with “Thorton Street” and devotes a large portion of the first verse to his mother. In the second verse, Cordae salutes his father while also mentioning his dad’s time in prison but makes certain to praise the influence he’s had on his life. The four tracks from Just Until…. will not appear on his next album, which appears to be titled From A Bird’s Eye View if the quick speech at the end of the “Thorton Street” is any indication.

Mortal Kombat has finally premiered on HBO Max, hours after the first reviews landed online. The new film sticks closer to the storylines from the games, and yes, it's very violent--pushing its R-Rating. Check out a selection of some of the reviews below. As of this writing, Mortal Kombat sits at a 43 on Metacritic--GameSpot's sister site. Out of 29 reviews, 16 land in the "mixed" section, with scores ranging between 40 and 60. This is the third live-action film based on the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games, but is a reboot of the property that is not connected to the previous entries. Director Simon McQuoid has promised the film won't deviate far from the source material, and that it. Initial reviews are mixed, praising the film's fidelity and combat, while calling out wooden dialogue and dump truck-esque exposition as slowing the brutal martial arts film down.

The Weeknd and Ariana Grande made sure their fans got their tissues ready and saved their tears for Friday (April 23) when they released their "Save Your Tears" remix. Earlier this week, both superstars teased an eight-second audio snippet on Twitter of their breathy vocals harmonizing the lyric "I don't know why I run away" on the song from The Weeknd's Billboard 200 No. 1 album After Hours. "Save Your Tears" is currently sitting at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, dated April 24, and just topped the Pop Airplay chart this week. The "Save Your Tears" remix is The Weeknd and Grande's third collaboration in seven years. He hopped on the "off the table" duet featured on Grande's 2020 No. 1 album Positions and "Love Me Harder" from her 2014 sophomore album My Everything, which ended up peaking at No. 7 on the Hot 100.
