Benny the Butcher of Griselda fame has made a triumphant return by dropping his highly anticipated album, Burden of Proof, on Friday. This project aids in the resurgence of Hit-Boy as he produced the entire album. Burden of Proof also features the usual suspects of Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn as well as Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, Queen Naija, and Dom Kennedy. Along with linking with this year's hottest producer, Benny tapped the legendary Guru to master Burden of Proof. This allows Benny's Pyrex-laced raps to pierce the production in a way that proves the rapper is ready to reach new heights. That feeling mirrors the theme Benny and Hit were trying to project with the album. "If you understand the meaning (Burden Of Proof), it’s one trying to prove their assertion; and that’s what I’m doing with this album," Benny explained. "This is the validation of what I have been saying all this time about Griselda, BSF, Benny The Butcher, coming to fruition. The Burden Of Proof always lies with me." The album was preceded by the single "Timeless" which featured Big Sean and Lil Wayne.

A pair of Chicagos really speaks to who Miles is and where he came from. A pair of Superstars...says nothing, especially when they’re Superstar highs, which have absolutely no cultural cache whatsoever (you could at least argue that Superstar lows have some vintage NYC+ Run DMC-type appeal). Some folks have argued that this is just one skin, and that you can see his AJ1s in other images, like this concept art on the cover of the game’s art book: But a) that’s just concept art, not a final in-game outfit (indeed, the outfit he’s wearing in the screenshots above appears to be the same one, only now with Adidas sneakers), and b) those aren’t Jordans. Those are unbranded knock-offs, which completely changes their context. It’s more than likely a marketing and licensing thing, with Nike’s deal only covering that one specific movie, while Adidas have a much wider and long-term arrangement with Marvel that has seen them release everything from adult sneakers to kid’s soccer jerseys. Understandable from a business sense, then, but it still sucks!

Among Us has been one of the biggest games of the year, and thanks to new data from Sensor Tower, we have an idea of just how huge it has been on mobile: it was the top game on both the iOS App Store and Google Play in Q3 2020, according to Sensor Tower’s data. Sensor Tower also estimates that Among Us — which was first released in 2018 — passed 100 million downloads just in Q3 2020, significantly eclipsing the more than 68 million downloads for the next highest-downloaded game, My Talking Tom Friends. It seems likely that the game will continue to be massively popular for the next little while. As I write this, it’s still at the top of the App Store and Google Play free games charts. And on PC, where it costs $4.99, Among Us is currently the fourth-most-played game on Steam, sitting below only Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PUBG. Among Us has also been a hit on Twitch, up a full 650 percent in hours watched from July to August. The game’s popularity has also trickled over to Discord, which has seen a huge spike in mobile downloads. Developer InnerSloth has canceled a planned Among Us sequel to focus on the first game.

Tory Lanez has been charged in connection with the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion ... just weeks after the singer released an album claiming his innocence. The L.A. County D.A.'s Office hit him with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also alleges Tory inflicted great bodily injury. If convicted, the rapper/singer faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison. As we reported ... the prosecutors had said they were mulling over a charge of felony assault with a firearm against Tory after Megan said she was shot back in July. Remember, Tory had been arrested but only charged with possession of a firearm. Prosecutors are now explicitly pointing the finger at Tory as the man who pulled the trigger ... leaving Meg with a gruesome foot injury. It took Meg some time before she went public and accused Tory by name as the person who shot her. She didn't mince words saying ... "Yes, this n***a Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people to these blogs lying and s**t, stop lying!"

One of the best RPGs ever is getting a sequel made by creators of another one of the best RPGS of all time. Baldur's Gate 3 will be the successor to the old Infinity Engine games that we remember so fondly, but there's no doubt it will look and play quite a bit differently. You'll gather your party before venturing forth, but the veneer of older RPGs is being replaced with voice acting, cutscenes, and turn-based combat. Sorry, lovers of real-time-with-pause.  Larian Studios is adapting Dungeons & Dragons tabletop rules for the next RPG and it sounds like they've taken a few creative liberties to translate the D&D experience to PC much like they did with Divinity: Original Sin 2. Fortunately, it seems that Larian's reputation as the permissive DMs of a digital RPG will carry into Baldur's Gate 3. All manner of mischief can be achieved with creativity and willpower. Baldur's Gate 3 launched in early access on October 6th, 2020.

Since signing with TDE back in August 2018, Reason has been somewhat consistent when it comes to delivering new music and today he has released his second project under the label, New Beginnings. Among the featured names are label-mates ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul. Other features include the incredibly talented J.I.D. and Rapsody — with those names on the tracklist the album certainly packs a punch when it comes to bars. The album can be heard below on your selected streaming service and hopefully it won’t serve as the last release of the year for TDE but even if it is, this project would wrap the year up nicely as far as releases go for the label.

According to DJ Akademiks, NBA Youngboy's label compilation tape is due out before the end of the month. NBA Youngboy is already three projects deep into this year but it looks like he'll be releasing at least one more before the year comes to an end. Though he's taken a break from social media, it looks like he's provided Akademiks with the inside scoop on his music situation. Youngboy will reportedly be releasing a compilation tape including all of the members of the NBA label before the end of the month. "Spoke with NBA YOUNGBOY earlier today. He said he giving fans a whole NBA tape this month (compilation tape with all the members of NBA). He told me fans can look out for this to drop on October 20," Ak tweeted from his burner account before sharing the screenshot to his official Instagram page. He also offered an update on NBA Youngboy's social media whereabouts.
