The Beanie for Brain Cancer Round has become one of the features of the NRL calendar. It sees the whole rugby league community coming together to support the great cause started by the former Newcastle Knight Mark Hughes. The man himself joined Andrew Moore and the team at the end of what is always an emotionally and physically taxing weekend for him a he continues to promote the great work done by his foundation. He reckons there's no other charity in the World that is afforded the luxury of the support of an entire sport - something he refers to as the NRL Army. Hughes explained that they are on track for a record fund-raising year having already raised $30 million over the past 10 years.
