Bryan Reynolds broke up the shutout with a 9th-inning homer, but it was far too little, far too late. Oneil Cruz and Andrew McCutchen combined to go 0-for-7 with 6 strikeouts, and Carmen Mlodzinski once again failed to pitch deep into a game. The offense has now scored fewer than five runs in 22 straight games, and fans are running out of ways to describe just how bad it’s gotten.
