Israel – A powerful nationwide moment of silence took place across the country during Yom HaShoah, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Video filmed by X user Abraham Ben Isaac shows vehicles on a multi-lane highway coming to a complete stop. Cars, white vans, pickup trucks, buses, and motorcycles pull over as drivers and passengers step out and stand silently beside their vehicles.
Recorded from a high vantage point, the footage captures modern skyscrapers and construction cranes under a clear blue sky. People are seen standing still along roadside shoulders and medians, some near traffic signs and barriers.
The post states: “The day of Yom HaShoah! Bravo champion. The Jewish people stop in memory of the 6,000,000 of our brothers and sisters murdered in the German extermination camps.”
The moment reflects an annual tradition marked by a two-minute nationwide siren, during which life across Israel stops completely. Highways, streets, schools, offices, and public spaces fall silent as people stand at attention.
The scene shows everyday movement paused, as the country unites in remembrance of the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust.
