Dunmurry, United Kingdom – Bodycam footage has captured the moment a car bomb detonated outside a police station in Dunmurry on Saturday night.

The incident involved a delivery driver who was hijacked in the Twinbrook area of west Belfast. A device was placed inside his vehicle, and he was forced to drive to Dunmurry police station.

The car exploded outside the station while evacuations were taking place, according to the footage and reported sequence of events. The incident is being treated by police as attempted murder.

Chief Constable Jon Boutcher described the attack as “deliberate, reckless and stupid.”

Centennial, USA – A deputy with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office rescued a dog hiding under a children’s trampoline in a backyard during a fire that destroyed two homes on April 20.

Deputy Ligon, a School Resource Officer, was the first to arrive at the scene of the fire in the 19700 block of E. Radcliff Pl. After kicking in the front door to search for anyone trapped inside, Ligon turned his attention to the backyard, where he found the dog hiding underneath a children’s trampoline. He quickly brought the animal to safety as the fire raged on.

The fire destroyed two homes, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities are reminding the public that Arapahoe County is under a Stage 2 Burn Ban due to high fire danger, prohibiting all open burning.

Officials urge residents to follow these fire restrictions to protect the community and first responders.

Antioch, USA – A police officer shot a driver in the leg after being trapped inside a fleeing getaway car during a violent confrontation following an armed robbery.

Body camera video released Thursday shows a chaotic encounter in which a suspect allegedly kidnapped an Antioch police officer and threatened to crash the vehicle. The incident ended a two-and-a-half-minute high-speed pursuit.

The events began just after 5 a.m. on February 20, when police responded to an armed robbery at a grocery store on Lone Tree Way. A store employee reported that three men had entered after crashing through the front doors with a car, and one was believed to be armed.

Officers arrived within minutes and saw 23-year-old Dominick DeSouza returning to his vehicle. After officers attempted to stop him, DeSouza accelerated into a patrol car. A second officer, on foot, reached into the vehicle as DeSouza reversed and then drove forward again, striking the patrol car a second time before fleeing with the officer still inside.

DeSouza then drove at high speed for about two miles while the officer remained trapped inside the vehicle. During the incident, the officer repeatedly ordered him to stop, while DeSouza insisted the officer get out. At one point, he said he “ain’t going to jail.”

Inside the vehicle, DeSouza also warned, “I’m going to crash, bro,” while the officer responded, “Don’t. It’s not worth it.”

The officer later attempted to shift the car into neutral before pointing his service weapon at DeSouza and warning he would shoot if the vehicle did not stop. After 1 minute and 13 seconds from the warning, the officer fired one shot into DeSouza’s leg.

Authorities stated the officer acted to reduce the risk of death to DeSouza, himself, and the public.

The vehicle later crashed into a parked car in a residential area, and DeSouza fled on foot before being found hiding in bushes and taken into custody.

He faces multiple charges including kidnapping, robbery, assault on a peace officer, burglary, grand theft, and vehicle theft. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the officer sustained minor injuries.

An independent investigation into the shooting is underway.

The owner of the boat was injured and taken to hospital following the incident.

Kilauea, USA – A video shows highlights from episode 45 of lava fountaining at Halema‘uma‘u at the summit of Kīlauea on April 23, 2026.

The eruption began just after 1 a.m. HST and continued for about 8.5 hours, ending at 10:01 a.m. HST. During the event, only the north vent produced lava fountains.

The fountains reached a maximum height of approximately 870 feet, or 265 meters, during the episode.

The video captures key moments from this overnight summit activity as it unfolded at the volcano.

Kilauea, USA – A timelapse video shows episode 45 of lava fountaining at Halema‘uma‘u at the Kīlauea summit on April 23, 2026.

The sequence was created from individual photographs taken before and during the 8.5-hour eruption event. Prior to episode 45, lava was overflowing from both the north and south vents, but during the eruption only the north vent produced lava fountains.

The fountains rose to a maximum height of 870 feet, or 265 meters, during the episode.

As the eruption ended, a large crack feature became visible forming and spreading within the tephra pile near the vent inside Halema‘uma‘u. Lava flows and the tephra pile were still slowly moving even after the episode had concluded.

The timelapse images were captured by a camera positioned on the south rim of the caldera.

Laura Roodhouse said the video was taken at 6:45 PM on April 27, 2026, shortly after severe thunderstorms moved through the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The clip was shared with the caption, “Full Double rainbow,” and was filmed as the region emerged from a period of dangerous weather. Earlier in the day, the area had been under tornado warnings and a moderate risk for severe conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes.

Portsmouth, United Kingdom – Britain’s flagship HMS Prince of Wales departed from Portsmouth to begin preparations for its next mission.

The aircraft carrier will take on Merlin and Wildcat helicopters, along with Malloy drones, as around 900 crew members prepare the warship for the next stage of operations.

The 65,000-tonne vessel has been stationed at Portsmouth Naval Base since late November, following the completion of an eight-month deployment to the western Indo-Pacific. During that mission, it led the Royal Navy’s main 2025 operation, known as Operation Highmast.

Since returning, the crew has worked alongside base personnel and contractors to clean, service, maintain, and upgrade thousands of onboard systems. In recent days, they have also loaded food, spare parts, and support equipment ahead of departure.

Air support during the initial training phase will come from Merlin helicopters of 820 Naval Air Squadron at Culdrose, maritime Wildcats from 815 Naval Air Squadron, and battlefield Wildcats from 847 Naval Air Squadron, both based at RNAS Yeovilton.

“HMS Prince of Wales ship’s company is looking forward to sailing, for the first time since returning from deployment in 2025, with their headquarters and air wing embarked,” said Commander David Mason.

Executive Warrant Officer David Wilson added: “After our time alongside the ship’s company is excited and keen to get back to sea.”

The vessel will now carry out combined training exercises in home waters before heading to Scotland to take on ammunition in preparation for future operations.
