Russian President Vladimir Putin gave conditions to end the war in Ukraine. He said Ukraine has to drop its NATO ambitions, hand over all of the four provinces claimed by Russia, and demilitarize itself. The United States and Ukraine declined the offer, saying Mr. Putin is in no position to set conditions for peace.
In a 6–3 ruling, the Supreme Court struck down the federal ban on bump stocks on guns. Bump stocks allow a shooter to convert a semi-automatic rifle into a weapon that can fire at a rate of hundreds of rounds a minute. The Trump administration imposed the ban following the 2017 Las Vegas shooting.
A federal judge ordered the liquidation of radio show host Alex Jones's personal assets. This was to help pay the $1.5 billion he owes to families of the Sandy Hook school shooting victims in his defamation case. The future of Mr. Jones's Infowars media platform remains uncertain as the judge has yet to decide on its separate bankruptcy case.
