Star witness Michael Cohen resumed his testimony in former President Donald Trump's New York trial. He faced intense cross-examination by President Trump's legal team, while a New York Appeals Court upheld the gag order targeting the former president.

House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared with President Trump at the courthouse to show support for him during the trial. Mr. Johnson called the trial a sham and a travesty of justice that's intended to keep President Trump off of the campaign trail.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Kyiv and met with senior Ukrainian officials. He said Ukraine is not alone, and that billions of dollars in American military aid is on its way to the country.

The Biden administration announced a 100 percent tariff on electric vehicles made in China—quadrupling it from 25 percent. It also hiked tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum products, lithium-ion batteries, and solar cells. The Biden administration said China is flooding global markets with exports that are underpriced due to unfair practices.
