Tawhedi reportedly expressed interest in becoming a martyr. He was active in pro-ISIS terror groups online.

Hurricane Milton has strengthened to become a dangerous Category 5 storm again. It’s packing wind speeds of more than 160 miles per hour as it heads for Florida. Officials are warning residents to evacuate as the state braces for disaster. The National Hurricane Center predicts storm surges of up to 15 feet in some areas. Weather forecasters predict Milton will make landfall between late tonight and early Thursday morning.

More than 1 million Florida residents have been ordered to evacuate as of Tuesday, with Hurricane Milton on track to make landfall on the state’s Gulf Coast between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. President Joe Biden has postponed his upcoming trip to Germany and Angola to oversee preparations for, and the response to, Hurricane Milton.

The District of Columbia and 13 states filed separate lawsuits against the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok, accusing the app of harming and failing to protect young people. The states are accusing TikTok of using intentionally addictive software designed to keep children watching as long and as often as possible, and of misrepresenting its content moderation effectiveness.

Florida is bracing for impact as Hurricane Milton approaches—one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes in years. Expected to make landfall on Wednesday, Milton has weakened to a Category 4 hurricane and could yet hit Florida as a Category 3, meaning wind speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. The National Hurricane Center has warned of life-threatening storm surges and flooding along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Explosions lit up the night sky of Beirut late Monday as Israel conducted airstrikes on the Lebanese capital. The strikes occurred as the world marked one year since the Hamas terrorist group’s attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The Israel Defense Forces reported that fighter jets targeted Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon with over 120 strikes in an hour. The terrorist group had launched more than 170 attacks across the border into Israel on Monday.

A Russian court yesterday sentenced a 72-year-old American citizen to nearly seven years in prison. Stephen James Hubbard was convicted on charges of serving as a mercenary for Ukraine. Russian media reported that Hubbard pleaded guilty, but his family questioned the confession. They told Reuters that he held pro-Russian views and was unlikely to have taken up weapons at his age.
