In this week’s episode we kick off with a look back at the US Open Golf and an unexpected win for Wyndham Clark on a really exciting final day. Also hats off to Andy Wild, who’s predictions last week all finished in the top 20 (with 3 out of 4 in the top 10).
We have to talk about the first men’s Cricket Test between England and Australia from Edgbaston – where England lost by just 2 wickets in a fantastic advert for the red ball game, where advantage switched constantly between the 2 sides before Australia got across the line in the final afternoon. We also look forward to the Women’s Test at Nottingham, with England giving a debut to fast bowler Lauren Filer, whilst batter Danni Wyatt gets her first test start after 247 white ball caps.
With so much other sport happening, the euro football qualifiers come later in the show, as we discuss England’s 2 wins. Scotland also made it 2 from 2, but their game against Georgia was held up when stadium staff were required to brush the rainwater from the pitch.
In a strange story for us, Daniel Connolly won the man v horse race – an event in Wales where 4-legged and 2-legged entrants compete
across a 22-mile course. Connolly came in 10 minutes ahead of first horse home, DNS Ronaldo.
And we finish off with not 1, but 2 Get a Grips! Tony vents his ire at Uefa’s minimal punishment of Jose Mourinho and Andy looks at New Zealand’s game against Qatar being called off at Half-Time due to racism.
A fantastic episode that will keep you going whilst we take a one-week summer break next week! See you all on 6th July!
