With an off season of replenishing the roster with loads of talent, the dust has started to settle on where players fit. The offensive line seems to be the most intriguing position group, especially with the off season signings at that group; only one player from last last season’s offensive line started at Ota’s. The draft filled in the rest of what fans felt needed to be replenished- Ed Oliver at nine taking the identical role Buffalo Bills legend Kyle Williams had. Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has evolved and grown as a coach within the first two years being in Buffalo, with many fans on board since snapping the playoff drought. With the 2019 NFL Draft approaching for the Buffalo Bills, marrying players to scheme may reward immediate impacts. General football philosophy is- cheapest way to acquire talent is through the draft, especially since the rookie wage scale came into place with Sam Bradford being the last of super high rookie contract salaries. General Manager Brandon Beane swung for the fences in the 2018 NFL Draft trading six picks in the top three rounds for only two players after gutting the team of many starters due to “high cap numbers,” and neglected to fill many of those holes all of 2018. Producer Adam Deacon joined the podcast talking shop on the Buffalo Bills Free Agency acquisitions. After falling asleep in half a track suit, host David Palermo awoke with a myriad of Bills and Antonio Brown trade rumor texts… Initially the thoughts are very positive in twitter land and across the sports landscape, but after a while the Bills became a joke for national media to poke fun at even “Josh Allen’s Accuracy.” Dave reviews “stats are for losers’ while resetting the scene at One Bills Drive for an audit of the philosophical situational fit of Antonio Brown. The 2019 NFL Draft is upon us, and with many holes to fill on the offensive side of the ball, could the Bills actually set themselves up for a cool trade candidate thats a top flight talent with loads of cap space available? Also some notes on theories with contracts, as in staggering the positional talent. i.e.) Draft a cornerback high this year as Tre White is going into year three destined for a top flight contract- if he leaves Buffalo, draft a cornerback following year.

Josh Allen was a polarizing pick for many of Buffalo Bills fans, as an unproven coaching staff and front office now had control to develop the rawest top quarterback in the draft. After the draft Brandon Beane took a huge risk to any credibility by saying “Josh Allen is a Buffalo Guy…” and to many, fell on deaf ears followed by a heavy eye roll from many fans; but Beane was right- Josh Allen is all that Buffalo football is about. McDermott’s offense has been documented the last couple years to be bottom of the barrel, and even with the drafting of Josh Allen the front office left the cupboard bare and moved quite lethargically enhancing even the depth of the offense. Diehard Bills fan, old friend of host David Palermo, Rob Antonucci joined the show to talk all about, the myth, the legend Josh Allen himself. Riff Lord Rob messaged Dave a great pic of him and his children with Josh Allen at Batavia Downs during a quick signing, and Josh even remembered their names at the end of the conversation. This conversation is all about Josh Allen top to bottom, from the drafting through the growing pains through present arrow up time and into the future.

The amazing thing about the NFL is how close every team really is, depends on coaching and players having a good marriage. Two cutting edge minds of the game are in the Super Bowl this year, New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick and LA Rams Head Coach Sean McVay. The Buffalo Bills also added a new offensive line coach in Bobby Johnson, promoted from within Chad Hall to be wide receivers coach, and hired Ken Dorsey as the new quarterbacks coach. All this news sprinkled within the rants on the big game.

Kevin Massare from Locked On Bills joins the podcast for the first time, in a long time. Great catching up, as it gets us a different perspective. David and Kevin reset the days of reasoning for starting do it yourself media, and where their hearts were and the possible progression into “negative coverage.” When this podcast is recorded Buffalo could pick as high as four or as low as ten for the 2019 NFL draft. With ten draft picks in 2019, and some cap space, the Bills could do some serious overhauling on the offensive side. That said, its extremely hard to read the tea leaves with deep fans ready to move on from the offensive line coach and run game coordinator Juan Castillo; especially after two horrible years coaching both. The defense has been THE story for the Buffalo Bills to build from, especially with young talent showing more than just dependable play. McBeane’s pick of Taron Johnson and undrafted rookie free agent Levi Wallace rank in the top five cornerbacks according to Pro Football Focus. Every few weeks the defense progresses well in an area, started from the defensive line, then linebackers and now the cornerbacks playing as a great unit. Will there be accountability on failing position coaches?

Maybe its classless to some to put a coach on blast, that said the special teams unit of the Buffalo Bills has made little to no big plays in about 6 years since Danny Crossman has been the special teams coach. Points on special teams not from a kicker seems just about impossible, all while not covering well on kicks against the Jets, costing the Bills the game. Bills Defense has been incredibly fun to watch, Matt Milano we wish a speedy recovery from the linebacker spot, hell of a player to watch develop and develop fast. Josh Allen, he runs and runs, three hundred yard games… but to the Tyrod haters, what gives?
