Nurture and Support

Kelly and Mel talk about Westworld Season 2 Ep 3 Virtu e Fortuna

We revisit that mysterious tiger from a previous episode.

More #TeamMaeve. News on Felix. And some excellence with Hector and Lee (aka Weasel Boy).

Dolores is still being kinda evil. Teddy is still confused.

This week we review Burzum’s Filosofem.  There is quite a bit of discussion of separating the artist from the art this episode.  Spanning black metal, dark ambient, and (according to Kelly) goth surf music, there is a lot to take in on this album.

And apparently, the good folks at VH1 agree…

Special Guest Tim Thul makes a rare appearance to tell us about a special nonprofit called Welcome Home Haiti. Take a listen and check out the links for more info!

Welcome Home Haiti:

Here’s a good intro video to the project:

Here is the playing card Pagan will be featured on…

Which Kelly believes is based off of this, but Mike was too lazy to confirm

Delores continues to Break Bad. You knew we would bring Breaking Bad into this episode.

Westworld S2 Ep2- Reunion

One word: GUS!

I think we both agree this episode had lots of important info and themes present throughout.

What did you folks think? What’s your favorite quote from this episode and where the hell is FELIX?

Mel’s fav quote: “Revenge is just another prayer at their altar and I’m well off my knees.” #TeamMaeve

What do y’all think about Logan’s little speech? Mel thinks it’s important…

“Devastation at last, finally we meet”

This week Mike and Kelly review a suggestion from our good friend Mel… Grant Lee Buffalo’s “Mighty Joe Moon”.

Well, we eventually review it in between discussions of tattoos, Ruby Ridge, The Beach Boys and hillbillies.  This is good stuff, you need to give Mighty Joe a listen!

Be sure to stay until the end to hear Mel’s rebuttal!

Kelly and Mel discuss Season 2, Episode 1 of HBO’s Westworld. Spoilers ahead, folks.

We hope that you love Westworld as much as we do. With that in mind, please let us know your pet theories, or questions in the comments or @ us on twitter.

These hands melt then disengage

This week Mike and Kelly review Lycia’s Ionia.  This was Mike’s suggestion and you will be treated to a memorable backstory on how Mike’s first exposure to this album occurred.

Next review will be one of the recommendations from our good friend Mel… and she will be given the opportunity for a rebuttal

Mike and Kelly continue their album review “music prisoner exchange” with Ace Frehly’s 1978 solo album.  Kelly admits to be a recovering Kiss fan and that he shelled out money for all four Kiss solo albums to secure this wonderful piece of fine art..

There was agreement it was a very enjoyable album due to some great music and guitar work, but the lyrical content was a tad thin… and we don’t mean maybe.

Mike mentioned a Lords of London version of the single off this album, “New York Groove”. And while Kelly couldn’t find that, he did stumble across this gem.

It’s been a really long week. Mel fails to guess Kelly’s version of Mel’s Cellos.

Kelly’s Rec:

Gadget: Cheerson CX-10WD Nano Drone

* It’s the most adorable tiny drone ever.

* It’s also super inexpensive.

* Cats and puppies beware.

* It has a tiny little camera too!

* Here’s a link to Amazon, but shop around. It’s available a lot cheaper than this.

Mel’s Rec:

Software: Scupltris

* Sculptris is a FREE 3D modeling program so you can digitally sculpt cool things.

* It’s made by Pixologic, the maker’s of ZBrush.

* Why do you want to digitally sculpt? So you can 3D print stuff! Also to be cool.

* I watched a couple of tutorials that really help you get started: This one is a paid class on Udemy

* Start with this free Youtube video. It covers all of the basics.
