This week we review Burzum’s Filosofem.  There is quite a bit of discussion of separating the artist from the art this episode.  Spanning black metal, dark ambient, and (according to Kelly) goth surf music, there is a lot to take in on this album.

“Devastation at last, finally we meet”

This week Mike and Kelly review a suggestion from our good friend Mel… Grant Lee Buffalo’s “Mighty Joe Moon”.

These hands melt then disengage

This week Mike and Kelly review Lycia’s Ionia.  This was Mike’s suggestion and you will be treated to a memorable backstory on how Mike’s first exposure to this album occurred.

Next review will be one of the recommendations from our good friend Mel… and she will be given the opportunity for a rebuttal

Mike and Kelly continue their album review “music prisoner exchange” with Ace Frehly’s 1978 solo album.  Kelly admits to be a recovering Kiss fan and that he shelled out money for all four Kiss solo albums to secure this wonderful piece of fine art..

There was agreement it was a very enjoyable album due to some great music and guitar work, but the lyrical content was a tad thin… and we don’t mean maybe.

Mike mentioned a Lords of London version of the single off this album, “New York Groove”. And while Kelly couldn’t find that, he did stumble across this gem.

 

 

It’s been a really long week. Mel fails to guess Kelly’s version of Mel’s Cellos.

* It’s the most adorable tiny drone ever.

* It’s also super inexpensive.

* Cats and puppies beware.

* It has a tiny little camera too!

Software: Scupltris

* Sculptris is a FREE 3D modeling program so you can digitally sculpt cool things.

* It’s made by Pixologic, the maker’s of ZBrush.

* Why do you want to digitally sculpt? So you can 3D print stuff! Also to be cool.

* I watched a couple of tutorials that really help you get started: This one is a paid class on Udemy

* Start with this free Youtube video. It covers all of the basics.
