President Biden has taken a number of executive actions early on in his administration that made many tribal communities feel their needs will be represented. For example, Biden nominated Deb Haaland to be the first Native American Interior Department Secretary. He also signed a memorandum reaffirming tribal sovereignty through tribal consultation.
