  • The Addendum - Episode Twelve - Bravely Default 2, Blue Fire, Her Story

Time is fleeting. Time is precious.

Why not give an hour of your time to us for another weekly dose of the O3C Podcast?

There’s updates on Minty’s progress through the phallus-heavy Shin Megami Tensei V as well as collective thoughts on the recent Switch port of Puzzle & Dragons. Jonathan continues to gawp at Elden Ring’s near-infinite world, and Chris delivers high praise for Telltale’s classic take on The Walking Dead, as well as… 2002’s Gran Turismo Concept on the PS2?

Then, with lists in flux, as always, this week our boys welcome the trio of Bravely Default 2, Blue Fire, and Her Story to our tri-centuries.

What made Square Enix’s Switch exclusive Bravely Default sequel so very, very good in the eyes of our JRPG aficionado Minty Booth? Why was the Souls-inspired platformer Blue Fire such a hit with young Jonathan Dunn? Can you be bothered to listen to Christopher Michael Dow waffle about how Her Story reinvigorates the FMV genre?

Plus - PLUS - we announce the winner of our recent social media share-a-thon competition!

  • The Addendum - Episode Eleven - Super Auto Pets, This War of Mine, Submerged

It’s Monday! It’s time for a podcast! About games no less!

Oiright den guvnor, what ‘av we bin playin’ an’ doin’ this week?

The Poké-fans reflect on some fresh Poké-news.

Minty slashes his way into the end game of Arceus. Chris embraces the post-patch GTA Trilogy on Switch, and begins the climb through a new community-helmed song pack for Clone Hero. Jonathan enters the infinite depths of Elden Ring.

Luvly jubbly, cobber! ‘ows ‘bout dem lists though?

Minty channels his love of flash games-made-mobile in the idle ‘line up the animals’ game Super Auto Pets.

Chris talks architecture, capitalism and human failure through the lens of the combat-less, free-climbing sail-em-up Submerged.

To round out the triptych, Jonathan reflects on the harrowing This War of Mine in light of current geo-political conflict.

(All O3C profits generated in March will be donated to humanitarian aid charities working to support the current Russia-Ukraine conflict)

  • The Addendum - Episode Ten - Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Hades, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Come join us as we welcome three new games to our lists, then pour one out in commiseration as we wrestle, emotionally, with ourselves as we dustbin three more.

Minty knocks back a tall glass of JRPG royalty as he makes way for Dragon Quest XI (in its expanded Switch port) to take residence on his list.

Jonathan sups from the rogue-lite beaker as he ushers modern indie classic, Hades, into his century pile.

Chris gets busy with the fizzy, taking a long draw through a short straw, as he attempts to justify his personal inclusion of genuine GOAT Ocarina of Time.

Also, as is customary, a big dump of spoken word regarding our recent gaming activity. Minty’s thoughts on Ni No Kuni early game, Jonathan’s post-credits thoughts on both Pokemon’s Gen IV’s remake and PS5 launch title Demon’s Souls, and Chris’ wrap on Little Nightmares 2, Lego Lord of the Rings / Conquest, and Picross NP Vol 1.

  • The Addendum - Episode Nine - The Room VR: A Dark Matter, Spider-Man, Desert Child

Every week a Monday, and every Monday a brand spanking new episode of the O3C Podcast, brought to you by the fine fellas at O3C Games.

“we’re doing this ‘til the grave!”

What did our boys make of the recent Nintendo Direct?

Collective trouser tingles at Mario Kart 8’s surprise run of DLC! Then individual excitement at Splatoon 3’s nearing release; Kirby’s dribbling mouthful; and odd ports from yesteryear.

On the NOW PLAYING list for this week: Pokémon Legends Arceus and Brilliant Diamond, Ni No Kuni, Oli Oli World, Clone Hero, AND Elder Scrolls: Blades.

As a crescendo, it’s top 100s on the line once more.

Listen in as our fearless hosts Jonathan, Minty and Chris attempt to expunge a previous century pick in favour of three new shiny shinies: a virtual reality update of The Room (dir: T Wiseau, 2003)*, Sony’s Insomniac’s Disney’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, and the unknowingly strange Desert Child respectively.

*(only joking! we have fun here, don’t we?)

  • The Addendum - Episode Eight - SNKRX, Sea of Thieves, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles

Is Jonathan still feeling positive about the Pokémon franchise after slamming nearly 60 hours (in one calendar week!?) into Legends Arceus? How many tens of hours has Minty found for the open world this week? What has Mrs Minty named our menthol man’s Pokémon party?

Could anyone have predicted that Chris would be playing Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures on the SNES this week? And can anyone guess the genre this weird Pac-oddity falls into? How’s Chris getting on with Clone Hero after a 2 year hiatus?

List amendments this week take the form of a modern reimagining of an old 3310 classic; a salty, social, swashbuckling, shanty of a game; and a game all about wanderlust.

  • The Addendum - Episode Seven - Paper Mario: The Origami King, Metroid Dread, Statik

Three more games. THREE MORE GAMES.

    Will the games ever stop?!

Paper Mario: The Foldy Monarch, Metroid Feart , and Statik (you can’t really get the thesaurus out for a word that’s not a word).

Very little to connect these three if we’re honest, but they’re here. And we love them. Enough to shove them into our lists no doubt.

Perhaps you’ll love them too? Perhaps you already do?!

There’s also a big load of smish smash piffle paffle about some games we’ve been playing this week. Perhaps in the future some of these titles will claw their way into the top 100 lists in their 8th or 9th revisions?

Minty and Jonathan give their initial thoughts on Pokemon Legends Arceus. Jonathan remains suitably impressed but personally nonplussed as he wraps up Death’s Door, then flaps and slashes his way through a few runs of Mon Amour and then Dead Cells respectively. Chris considers the Euro-design sensibilities of Sturmwind EX, kills time with Disney Pixar Cars on the GBA (why?), then takes an alternate history walk down memory lane via Zaccaria Pinball.

  • The Addendum - Episode Six - Doom 64, Returnal, Balloon Kid

This week on the O3C Podcast, our gamers three bring three more games to the table for your consideration: Midway’s part-sequel-part-spinoff Doom 64; Housemarque’s PS5 exclusive Returnal, and Nintendo’s Balloon Kid a 30+ year old Gameboy Classic.

Where will they fall in our big bad lists? And which games will be excised to make room for their spritely inclusion?

“Imagine trying to juggle with a hundred and twenty balls? You’re going to drop some.”

List to one side, what else have we been playing?

Minty smooshes demons together to create long greyhounds in Shin Megami Tensei V, and weeps salted tears at Banjo Kazooie’s lack of right analogue stick camera control.

Jonathan tippy toes towards the goal line of Isaac, revisits the warmth of Little Inferno, but goes a little cold as he progresses through Death’s Door.

Chris gets told off for picking up a F2P gem buster; tells off a cynical publisher for devaluing indie titles like the Foxyland duology on Vita; and watches his partner play through Lego Lord of the Rings.

(Apologies for Chris' less than stellar audio this week - we're investigating the cause of the digital farts!)

  • The Addendum - Episode Five - Stardew Valley, Ni No Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch, Little Inferno

    Oh, stories.

    There are always stories.

Remember when our silly little podcast lasted 20 minutes a week and we just said ‘game’s good’ and then moved on? It’s been a fair old time since we were that succinct, and those clamouring for ‘less, less, less!’ certainly won’t be placated by this week’s serving of ‘more, more more!’.

Stories of digital polygamy. Stories of Ghibli tears. Stories of lockdown.

Was O3C ever really about games?

This week, in games we *have* played: Minty plays ‘avoid the phallus’ in Shin Megami Tensei V; Jonathan spies the end of his Isaac tether on the horizon; Chris gets dewy eyed as his PS3 is lowered into a temporary tomb.

  • The Addendum - Episode Four - Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, God of War, Zuma's Revenge

There are no other videogame podcasts in existence where, in a single hour long episode, the hosts will talk passionately about games as disparate as Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, the PS4 reboot of God of War, and Popcap’s Zuma’s Revenge. IT JUST DOESN’T HAPPEN.

Sail with us, fair listener, as we make the case for this trio’s entry into our top 100 lists. Why do they merit inclusion? And, when their inclusion has justified, which three titles leave the party this week to make way for their insertion?

Back on dry land, what have we used to entertain ourselves over the last seven calendar days?

Minty sets down an RPG to play.. an RPG. Jonathan plays some more Isaac, of course, but is also swayed by Chris' to pick up Dariusburst to get his space on. Chris beats the PS3 tie-in to the 2009 film of the same name, Terminator Salvation.
