🎧 The 18-Year Journey of "Wilde Renate"This isn’t just a track; it’s a lifetime of sonic archaeology. "Wilde Renate" is a musical bridge spanning nearly two decades, three distinct eras of my life, and a deep connection between Romania and Berlin.
⏳ The Timeline2007 | The Spark: The female vocals layered into the track are from the very first song I ever wrote. These lyrics waited 18 years to find their final home.
August 2018 | The Memory: In a studio in Brașov, Romania, my old friend and guitarist Sebastian Lala recorded a part that echoes throughout the track—a recurring reminder of my roots.
August 2025 | The Rebirth: The project evolved at the music production workshop at Wilde Möhre last year, where we recorded unique sounds and audio samples together with the participants. We then took those textures and laid down the core tracks inside a studio at Salon Zur Wilden Renate in Berlin, just one week before my "soul club" closed its doors.
🎛️ The Analog Spirit & Spontaneous EnergyThe track’s gritty, authentic character comes from a collection of analog instruments my friend Kat salvaged from a shipping container bought from a stranger in Berlin. The session became a magnet for spontaneous energy:
The Neighbor: A artist from the studio next door stopped by to lend us a microphone, ended up jamming on the session, and I wove my 2007 vocals over his playing to create a completely new narrative.
The Final Polish: After the Berlin sessions, the entire production was brought over to Romania to be finalized. I mixed the track myself, with Răzvan {Utip} stepping in to add the final drum layers that anchored the 2007 vocals, the 2018 guitar, and the 2025 analog synths.
From the first words I wrote in 2007 to the collaborative workshop energy and the final nights of a Berlin legend, "Wilde Renate" is a tribute to the persistence of art, friendship, and the gear that finds us along the way.
