The year 2020 was another banner 12 months for the world’s most popular entertainment past time. With so many stuck at home, and an old generation going out with a bang, there was no shortage of great titles. Thankfully, the year saw hits across multiple genres. A laid back chore simulator, an RPG remake of epic proportions, the battle royal for everyone, and the sequel to an instant classic, gamers were spoiled for choice across the board. With so many stand out titles, it was no easy task to sift through what we saw as our best experiences of the year. But fear not, we each have a list of our five favorite games of the year and also one honorable mention. So sit back and let's take one more look back at the year that was, and break down each of our Game Of The Year contenders for 2020.

I’ve got a good feeling about this. After almost ten years in bed with Electronic Arts, the folks at Lucasfilm are looking for a new hope. For starters, they have changed their name; Lucasfilm games is the new mantle and it brings with it some lofty expectations. Secondly, and maybe more importantly, the Star Wars IP will be handled by more than just one publisher. We dig through all the details and see just how excited Rage is about this wild turn of events.

Luckily for us, the newly minted Lucasfilm Games is not just set on concentrating on Star Wars. Yup, they are in their bag and are looking to everyone’s favorite archaeologist, Indiana Jones Jr. What’s to come for the character that inspired two massive franchises in Tomb Raider and the Uncharted series? With Machine Games at the helm, we know there will be plenty of Nazi slaying. But will it be an Xbox/PC exclusive?

And finally, one of the biggest games of 2021 has been pushed to 2022. Hogwarts Legacy looks to add time on their side to increase the games quality, and perhaps distance itself from other shenanigans. Juarez gives us his take on his beloved magical wizarding world.

We’re back! The break is over and we are back at it again. Much can be said about the year that was 2020, but in the world of gaming we can land on at least one conclusion: it was a great year for games.

The first half of the year held massive award winners Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and Half Life Aylx. While the summer saw a back to back helping of third person action with The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tushima, we also found space to murder and lie in Among Us; all this in-between farming sessions of Genshin Impact. Closing out the year we got the usual suspected third party offerings and another Super Giant masterpiece in Hades. And after almost a decade, we finally got to play Cyberpunk 2077 and live out our night city dreams.

All that to say 2020 was another banner year for the gaming industry. We've each brought our top moments of the year to the table and discuss Fortnite's Marvel event, building our first gaming pc, Xbox spending all the money, and much, much more.

After almost a decade of waiting, the hottest game of 2020 has finally landed. Does it live up to the hype? Is it worth playing on a high-end PC? Does CD Project Red have another hit on their hands? We finally get to have a discussion about Cyberpunk 2077 after sinking dozens of hours into it. Guess what? We are smitten.

The Game Awards 2020 have come and gone and we have the aftermath report. Last of Us Part 2 took home almost every award it was nominated for and there were plenty of surprises. From huge announcements, to celebrity guests, to even some slick new gameplay, we have all the big moments from the show.

Star Wars Squadrons has gotten it’s latest back to back updates, and the kids are having a blast. A new map, new mods, and that ole so sweet B-Wing have all been providing an exciting boost to an already praised game. Rage stops by to give us all the details from a galaxy far far away.

I can’t believe I’m here again.. Somehow, those brilliant fools on the Fortnite Team have pulled me back into their world; it seems that I’m not the only one. Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 5 is here and it’s packed with new gear, ways to play, and of course skins. Let’s cut to the chase -- the God of War himself has landed. Yes, Kratos is in the shop and he brings with him huge hopes for the rest of the season. Maybe we’ll even get Goob to play?!

What happens when the nerds at Oxford get into a room with the nerds at Nintendo and EA? Well, we get some cool nerd stats and insite. Apparently, gaming is good for our feeling of well being. Who knew? All of us did..

Holy shit, I think they did it. In a move that has come as complete surprise, Apple has changed up it's agreement with small developers on the app store. Could this be a sign to come and is there more for Apple to do in this space?

And finally, we have an update on Star Wars Squadrons. Yes, you heard that right, Squadrons is getting an update. After much evidence to the contrary, it seems that EA Motive will in-fact be supporting its popular space flight sim with post launch content. I’ll give you one guess who’s the most excited about this news and I can assure you, they have ALL the words to say.

The wait is over. The next generation is officially now. After a pre order debacle, an even shakier launch day, and against all odds, we somehow have an Xbox Series X in house. Thanks to some very diligent page refreshing and a bunch of tape, we can give you our first hands on impressions. Jaurez has the console and all the words to give you a taste of what to expect from your shiny new system.

Mass Effect is back! All you nerds can shut the hell up, because by Spring 2021 you will have all three Mass Effect games and their dlc up and running on modern consoles. Are you as excited as Jaurez about this news? For EA’s sake, let's hope not.

We’ve finally made it. Destiny 2’s newest expansion is just days away and Jaurez has the complete breakdown. From new enemies, new weapons, and even the complete content roadmap, he takes you through everything you need to know about the game that will take up all his time until this December. The Xbox Series X has officially been reviewed by all major gaming outlets, and we have the big talking points. You probably already know the first one -- it’s fast.
