I know Eric as an excellent television Casting Director.
9-1-1, American Horror Story, Law and Order: The Menendez Murders and many more.
I was intrigued to learn that Eric was nominated for a 2019 Artios Award for a theatre project called THE PRIDE.
I learned the Eric loves casting and attending theater and looks forward to casting more of it!
I love this episode.
Matt Lessall is the former President of the Casting Society of America, he has been a Casting Executive and loves his current position as an independent Casting Director with a focus on indie films.
He knows SO MUCH about actors succeeding, and patiently went above and beyond in this interview to have an in depth dialogue about what he has learned.
He is nominated for a 2019 Artios Award for the short film THE LOST.
I can't wait to watch it!
Julie Ashton is one of a kind.
Such a great sense of humor, and so very warm.
She is one of the TOP Casting Directors for comedy in the whole business.
She is nominated for two Artios Awards this year.

She and her team also cast:

Dear Listeners,
It was so great to hang out with Robert, Eric and Carol. The principals of UDK Casting. Not only are they people that I trust and admire, I'm envious to have friends who are doing what they love, and have been able to do it for decades. It's the perfect partnership because they share values, compliment each other, yet retain their uniqueness.
They have earned the HOYT BOWERS AWARD, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the Casting community. It will be given to them at the Artios ceremony in LA in late January 2019.
I am so happy for them and loved spending a half an hour recording them for this podcast so you can get to know them better as well.
Congrats guys (and gal)

It was such an honor to sit down recently with Casting Director Gary Zuckerbrod to discuss his 2019 Artios Nomination for the Netflix film THE KISSING BOOTH.
We also discussed his career path and some of the way casting has changed since he first got into the business.
I'm going to convince him one day to start a voice-over career if he ever has spare time. Just listen to this episode and you will understand why I think he could be hugely successful doing that!
