  • REVISIT Michaela Renee Johnson
While Charlie is in Africa (working on the WELLS OF LIFE charity project), let's revisit some of our most popular recent guests. Like Michaela Renee Johnson. Michaela Renee Johnson practices and preaches a life of excitement, joy and (most of all) happiness.  Which leads Charlie to happily remind us all in this episode that "yes, we are STILL allowed to pursue happiness...even in these troubled and turbulent times!" Michaels is a breath of fresh air in this episode. And a true "happiness expert". Having built a whole movement around this topic through her book "Be You, Be Happy".  Along with all the workshops, seminars and coaching she's added as well. Complimenting her work as a psychotherapist, life coach and happy podcaster. So BE YOU, BE HAPPY. And hear again her joyful journey towards finding the everyday happiness in her own life.  As Charlie pursues his own path of personal happiness in Africa as a happy "water warrior", drilling water wells in Uganda for those without this most basic human need (clean water).

  • Never Slowing Down
Hear how a couple of active baby boomers have adapted to their age and found a way to keep pedaling and pushing themselves forward. As they continue to pursue "second act careers" in real estate and "developing influential leaders" (like themselves). And pursuing new paths that still lay before them.
So hear the story of how 60 something Brenda Hudson, (after stumbling into a Pedego Electric Bike store in Delaware across from where she was having lunch), finally found a way to keep up with her hard core, bike riding husband, Michael. Who suddenly (after her purchase) found himself in the uncomfortable position of trailing her!
Which led him to take the leap and join the eBike Revolution as well. For health and happiness (and to keep up with his wife!) Opening new trails and paths for this ever evolving power couple.  On this week's ever growing, PEDEGO PODCAST.

  • Faith Community Nursing: Providing Intentional Care for Everyone with Linda Mirshafiee and Eithne Keegan
Every year, in May, we honor nurses all over the world as we celebrate National Nurses Month. It is an opportunity to advocate for the profession and to promote the value of their hard work and dedication. Being a nurse requires not only specialized education and training but also interpersonal skills and amiable qualities that will help them connect with healthcare consumers better. Needless to say, nursing is a noble profession as it is; but there is a growing specialty practice called Faith Community Nursing that makes this vocation even more challenging but greatly fulfilling at the same time.Imagine having someone to walk alongside you as you go through health crises in your life. What’s even better is that aside from the emotional and psychological support that they can give, they are trained professionals who can lay out information and answers to questions that you are too afraid or hesitant to ask doctors and other healthcare providers. That is essentially what faith community nurses aspire to do! With the support of the whole community and the improvement or promotion of healthcare services, faith community nurses strive to develop an integrative model of health and wellness. With this kind of approach, the hope is that more people will be encouraged to address health issues and prevent or minimize illnesses and even mental health conditions. Learn more about Faith Community Nursing from our guests, Eithne Keegan and Linda Mirshafiee in this episode! Memorable Quotes:I think when we all partner together – healthcare providers and parents – in supporting our kids, I think it makes it a much more positive experience. – Linda Mirshafiee We used to come together more as communities around crisis… But as church attendance has shrunk, as we've all become more virtual, as we become more mobile and move around the country, those family networks, those church networks, those community networks seem to be fading, falling apart; and more and more, we’re left on our own. – Paul RobertsThere is comfort in knowing that there is a God… and also the purpose of belonging to a community. – Eithne KeeganSometimes you got to get out and seek some help. And maybe it just reinforces what you already thought. Maybe it's just somebody holding your hand saying, “It's okay. You'll figure [it out].” But you need somebody. Being alone is not the answer to going through all of life here. Not at critical moments; I don't think that's when you should be alone. – Paul RobertsResources Mentioned: End GameFrontline: Being MortalHoag Health NetworkAbout the Host:Dung Trinh, MD is the Chief Medical Officer of Irvine Clinical Research, a medical missionary with TongueOut Medical Missions, and holds leadership positions with multiple health care organizations in Orange County. Quotes
“About a year and a half [into EOS], I was working about five days a week, maybe even four. But you know, a very easy to maintain schedule. The stress level in the company came way down. The happiness level was good—I look forward to going in, especially for my weekly EOS meeting…”  Eric Lindsley, (5:50)

“This last quarter…[we did] more in book sales per quarter than we did the entire year of 2018.”  Eric Lindsley, (7:21)

“It can’t just be myself or the leadership team, but throughout the company, there has to be space. And that’s the nice thing about EOS and the EOS Life is it gives you space.” Eric Lindsley, (11:42)

“The nice thing that happens though, is when you lose people that don’t have your values, it opens up space for the right person to come in.” Eric Lindsley, (17:51)
“The more I involve myself with things that are really not for me to be involved in, all I’m doing is communicating…[that] I don’t trust you to make that decision. If you have to get involved in every process, what you’re saying is, ‘I don’t trust you.’” Eric Lindsley, (28:53)

  • #246 Stephanie Allen: Discover Your Artistic Identity
Show Notes   We are in for a real treat today. I have already spent nearly three hours of discussion regarding Your Artistic Identity with our very special guest, Dr. Stephanie Allen. My problem today is not regarding “what I want to talk about,” but what I have to leave out because Stephanie has so much wisdom to share. Stephanie Allen holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota. She teaches violin to students of all ages in her school Violin Technique Coaching. But Stephanie’s expertise is not exclusively regrading violin or music in general. She teaches anyone how to bring your inherent art form out of hiding someplace within. And she is a master at her craft! Stephanie is committed to preserving both the artist and the art. She writes this, “Music is in my DNA. I have a beautiful lineage of musicians in my family. But the art of mastery is not something you can inherit. It is a path that is studied, practiced, learned, and explored. It is an intentional path. Often, the art of mastery is a path that is wrought with pain, fear, performance anxiety, and abuse. But it does not have to be. Mastery demands structure and regimen, but it does not demand fear or stress.   Stephanie is a master artist who has developed a brilliant methodology for teaching violin and for helping artists in general how to thrive in their art. And oh, by the way, Stephanie believes that every single one of us possesses that artist within. We will talk about that.   Please visit Stephanie’s lovely website at https://www.violintc.com/ for more information.
