  • The Future Is Now: How Technology Can be Utilized for Improving Health and Wellness with Abigail Aboitiz
Despite the many benefits that we can get from regular exercise, many people still turn down the idea or slack off when it comes to engaging in physical activities. For some, the biggest struggle is to be consistent and stick to a routine; while there are others who find it the most challenging to even begin. On top of that, going to the gym seem to be so much of a hassle for many people – it requires money, energy, effort, and plenty of our precious time. Are you the type of person who would always come up with excuses not to exercise? Or are you just too busy to really find time for it? Then how would you like it if, instead of going to the gym, you can actually bring “it” everywhere and work out while doing anything else that you have to do in your daily life? Our guest, Abigail Aboitiz, promotes the amazing technology called EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) which is a wireless body-sculpting device/suit that can help you reach your fitness goals or simply aid in maintaining your physical health and overall wellbeing. Aside from that, she also introduces the many possibilities that a blockchain – the system behind cryptocurrencies – can be utilized when it comes to healthcare. If you haven’t heard about any of these interesting and trailblazing ideas or if you want to learn more, then tune in to this episode!Memorable Quotes:I think the better utilization of crypto is it needs to be geared toward incentivizing people's health. – Abigail AboitizLife really is about us asking the right question, and you'll get the right answer. – Abigail AboitizYou need to be in a position where you know how to measure outcomes when it comes to health. – Abigail AboitizOther Resources: Gym You WearAXIAYesDoctor by 247 Health Solution LLCAbout the Guest:Abigail Aboitiz is the founder of Advanced Wearables Inc (AWI), a sister company of 247 Health Solution, which is a virtual management and remote patient monitoring solution designed to enhance and assist physicians, medical groups, and health systems. She is also an experienced and successful entrepreneur who has a vision for a higher level of fitness and healthcare systems. • Wells of Life Founder Nick Jordan
Join us as our favorite "Irish storyteller" shares the moving story of his life and how he came to create the charity WELLS OF LIFE.  And how it's grown to become a major force for helping end the cycle of poverty and despair for poor villagers in Uganda thru the simple act of drilling a well and giving them access to clean water (for the first time in their life).

  • Reporting on the EBike Revolution
We're not the only ones covering this story!  Meet Dave Hogan a former journalist and current blogger who writes about e-bikes in his blog THIS EBIKE LIFE. Authoring a book on the subject as well entitled E-BIKES: Putting the FUN Back Into Cycling (and Life) at Any Age (which includes profiles on Pedego Co-founder and CEO Don DiCostanzo and on two devoted Pedego customers, Dr. Miryam Liberman and Laura Maydahl who we've both had the privilege of interviewing).
Like many Baby Boomers, Dave grew up riding a bike as a child. His bike was his freedom. He rode it to school, parks, and pretty much anywhere he wanted to go. When he got married 46 years ago, he and his wife Kathy gave each other matching bicycles as wedding gifts.
Now he's migrated to a Pedego Electric bike.  And with that move, found a whole new interest and angle to write about. Sharing the same stories we're all hearing from the trail of people getting back on a bike (often after years away from riding). Chronicling the same EBike Revolution we talk about here on the Pedego Podcast.

  • Putting Your Life in Balance
Meet Jimmy Wang, another amazing immigrant who came to this country from China with nothing but a dream (and the desire to do whatever it took to succeed). Turning that into a publicly traded company that produces high end aviation parts.
Hear about his newest idea to take a scientific approach to traditional Chinese healing (that he discovered here in Orange County) and turn that into the next big "health and healing" franchise (like Massage Envy but with a deeper root in "releasing your chi" and balancing the overall energy in your body).
Finding  the blockages in what the Chinese believe is your internal system of inter-connected "meridians" that flow throughout your body.   And then releasing those blockages thru the healing power of acupressure (instead of acupuncture).  Allowing your internal energy to flow freely and bring your body "back into balance". Flushing out all your toxins (in the process) and providing all the energy needed for the body to "heal itself".
From Aviation to Internal energy. Don't miss this amazing "immigrant's tale" and the transformation and healing he hopes to bring to the world.  On this week's OC SPOTLIGHT.  Streaming live from our studios here at the University of California Irvine's BEALL APPLIED INNOVATION CENTER.  Here on Orange County's only community radio station, OC TALK RADIO.
