  • #244 Rand Sperry: Making the Most of the Years that Matter Most
Show Notes  Well, it’s my first day back from 3 weeks in Portugal. I am rested and ready to go. Today’s show is sort of a last-minute idea because we feared I would be hampered by jetlag, but that is not the case. I am so happy to say that my dear friend, Rand Sperry was available to have a discussion on a subject very dear to both of us—basically it’s all about how to optimize “old age” before you reach “Old, old age.” Haha In the 2020’s we have an entirely different concept of old age than we did 50 years ago. 50 years ago, 60 was considered old. Today that is not the case. In fact, I am not even sure what we consider to be “old age” now days—certainly not before 80 years old. In two months, I will be 73 and I feel as if I am at least 20 years younger. In fact, I am in what I consider to be the most golden years of life. I call these years my “Autumn” which I will explain later in the show. So let’s bring on the very youthful Rand Sperry to talk about “Making the Most of the Years that Matter Most.”

  • Being of Service to Others
As much as we all aspire to be of service to others, there are some for whom those words seem to be more than just a lofty goal.  Such a person is Tom Mulligan, who after 10 years of having fun in Radio and TV, felt compelled to transition into a career in social work where he could more directly help others in need.  In which he found a niche helping refugees in his adopted hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan resettle into a new community. Helping people who'd left their war stricken world for a chance at something better.
And that's when the seed was born in Tom's mind for his own piece of the American Dream. To own his own business, but one that still allowed him some way to connect with people and serve the community. And that's where this unlikely journey took a twist and down a path he'd never seen towards opening an electric bike store.  A product that served a need and provided a personal path towards health and happiness. And still gave him a sense of doing something positive for the community.
Join us for an amazing journey of "service to others" on this week's Pedego Podcast. With a good guy running a good business in the Heartland of America.

  • Trends and Innovations in the Healthcare Delivery Systems with Dr. Clarence Lee Jr.
The quality and accessibility of medical care services have always been significant points of discussion. And looking at the bigger picture with other social aspects and issues to be factored in, a lot of people can’t help but wonder, “Is healthcare still a basic right or a privilege?”To contextualize this issue, it would be helpful for experts and healthcare providers to evaluate trends, models, and systems that have been in place for ages; and consequently, reimagine what healthcare should look like to be able to innovate and provide better, more sustainable, and holistic services. In this episode, Dr. Trinh talks about an approach encapsulated in this medical metaverse called the MDDAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). This system, which operates like an online community, gives members the unique opportunity to take part in designing and developing the system itself. Dr. Clarence Lee Jr., president, and CEO of Exhort Health, also discusses how he aims to decrease barriers to the utilization of healthcare services by simplifying processes, lowering costs, and improving the patients’ overall experience. Learn more about these innovative approaches that can be life-changing alternatives to conventional healthcare delivery systems! Memorable Quotes:Healthcare is a holistic approach – what you eat, how you exercise;  it's stress, it's all sorts of things in your life. – Paul Roberts You want to decrease the barriers to utilization [of healthcare services] because you want to get ahead of stuff before you start having complications of conditions being uncontrolled. – Dr. Clarence Lee Jr.People are people.
