Sligo professional boxer Aaron Gethin will have his first bout for almost a year when he boxes on the 'Celtic Clash 11' card in Murcia, Spain, on January 23rd.

Gethins, who has won his four pro fights to date, will take on Russian-born Elkhan Barimov in a welterwight contest.

The first Covid-19 vaccinations in Sligo were administered on Wednesday afternoon. The vaccination roll-out at Sligo University Hospital began with frontline staff members.

Staff midwife Mary Meade was the first person in Sligo to receive the vaccine. About 550 staff will be vaccinated over the next couple of days.

Grainne McCann, Hospital Manager at Sligo University Hospital, spoke to Ocean FM News about the rollout.
