This marked the final service for Dr. McIntyre as pastor of Brainerd Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The service was centered around the observances of baptism and the Lord's Supper with Dr. McIntyre speaking on the significance of these ordinances. As communion was administered the choir sang followed by the organ playing "The Old Rugged Cross" and other selections. Following the Lord's Supper the choir sang "When He Shall Come."

As the evening service came to its conclusion Dr. McIntyre gave his final words as Pastor requesting that Clifton Ward pronounce the benediction. Mr. Ward was chairman of the Pulpit Committee 18 years ago when Dr. McIntyre was presented to the church. Dr. McIntyre then requested that as he departed for the new ministry to which the Lord had led him that Harry Hampsher lead everyone one more time in the singing of the beloved hymn "Amazing Grace."

The message for this Easter Sunday morning was a very challenging message on an incident in the life of King David. Dr. McIntyre also led the congregation in the reading of Romans 13. For the past several weeks a chapter in the Book of Romans had been read toward the beginning of the service. Today's passage was Romans 13.

The special music for this Easter Sunday was provided by the choir and soloist with the Harry Hampsher selection of "Were You There" immediately preceding the message. The service concluded with a Handbell Choir rendition of "The Hallelujah Chorus." 

It was announced that the evening service would include John Peterson's "The Last Week" performed by the Brainerd Baptist Church Choir. The upcomig Bible Conference Revival was announced including special speaker Manley Beasley. Wesley Jones was recognized during the service for his outstanding student service with the Royal Ambassadors.

Today Dr. McIntyre delivered a message he has preached over 40 times on the well know passage in Daniel on the writing on the wall. Just before the message Harry Hampsher most appropriately sang a selection titled "The Hand of God Upon the Wall."

Today's congregational singing included "When Morning Gilds the Skies," "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah," "I Will Sing of My Redeemer," "Trusting Jesus," "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus," and "Jesus, the Sweetest Name I Know." The choir and bell choir also had a special presentation.

During this time in 1976 the churches in the city of Chattanooga were participating in "Here's Life Chattanooga Rally." Coming up the next Saturday Brainered Baptist Church would be holding a "Here's Life Prayer Rally."

For this Sunday morning service at Chattanooga's Brainerd Baptist Church, Dr. McIntyre presented a powerful message from Nehemiah 13 on the challenges of living the Christian life. It is difficult to live pleasing to Jesus. There is so much to pull us away from the walk, the witness and testimony of the Christ like life. Our desire should be to do all we can to walk with Jesus every day.

Once again there was a an uplifting time of music with the congregation singing "Holy, Holy, Holy," Immortal Invisible," "Living for Jesus," "Everyday With Jesus is Sweeter Than the Day Before," and "All to Thee." A Ladies Duet sang "Christ Lives Through Me" and the choir sang "The Light of the World." Harry Hampsher blessed the congregation with a solo before Dr. McIntyre's message.

For this morning message Brother McIntyre speaks on the importance of not quenching the Holy Spirit in our lives. No area of Christian doctrine, except the second coming, is so grossly misunderstood as the person, the work and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Our responsibility is to yield to the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Yield to the Spirit and the holy God in you because of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This recording is of the entire Sunday morning service for Labor Day weekend September 5, 1976 at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The service begins with an organ prelude and concludes with an organ postlude. The service includes two choir pieces and the congregation singing "The Doxology", "Come Thou Fount", "Teach Me to Pray" and "Near to the Heart of God." As is customary Harry Hampsher sings just before the sermon setting the tone for the message on the Holy Spirit.

 This message was delivered to the Hamilton County Pastor's Association in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this message Dr. McIntyre shared his personal experiences with the sudden death of his wife Sue McIntyre the previous year. He relates the Lord's leading in his life as he dealt with grief and his dependence on the Lord in moving forward.

For the morning message Dr. McIntyre encouraged the congregation to rejoice in the glories of the grace of God that is shared with us in the wonders of the revelation God has given in His word and the expression of grace that is completely filled in the presence of Jesus and the wonder of that grace that He has freely made available to everyone of us.

Special music was a big part of this morning service at Brainerd Baptist Church. There was one solo and two duets with one selection being "It Took a Miracle." The choir had five pieces including "This is My Story" and "Wonderful Grace of Jesus." In his traditional role a solo by Harry Hampsher immediately preceded the message. 

This Easter Sunday evening service at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee was dedicated entirely to the commemoration of the Lord's Supper. The entire service was a time of reflective worship with extended organ selections and choir pieces including "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross." Dr. McIntyre led in the observance of the Lord's Supper preceded by Scripture reading and sharing of the significance of this important ordinance. The service concluded with another choir selection and prayer with Pastor McIntyre requesting everyone dismiss with quiet reverence.

The message for this Sunday morning addressed the recent tornadic tragedy in the area that took over 300 lives. Dr. McIntyre spoke on the unshakeableness of God even in tragedy. Harry Hampsher comforted the congregation with his singing of "Rock of Ages".

It was announced that for the following Friday evening there would be a special dinner for the church family in which Brainerd Baptist Church would recognize the 15th anniversary of Pastor McIntyre.

It was also announced that the service for this Sunday evening would be a dramatic musical presentation of "The 7 Last Words".

Dr. McIntyre's service was titled "Angels." Angels being one of the most misunderstood yet frequently discussed doctrines in the Bible. Dr. McIntyre related that the facts and knowledge of angels and their work and ministry would bring an added strength to ones Christian life and help Christians to be strong in the Lord in all these times of testing.

The message was preceded by a beautiful message in song by Harry Hampsher on angels. At the conclusion of the message Dr. McIntyre requested that Harry once again sing that special solo. The service also included several selections by the Youth Choir.

What was church life at Brainered Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1974? The church announcements give a glimpse into the events of that era. A family outing at Chickamagua Park was scheduled with biking, kite flying and a picnic. A sewing class was being started for the ladies and much prayer was being offered up for an upcoming revival.
