Dr. Mcintyre read from Ezra on the return of the people of God to Jerusalem after 70 years in exile, but they had no temple. Instead they built an altar unto the Lord. So too we today need to build in our lives a spiritual altar unto the Lord and seek His guidance in all our ways.

Today’s message was preached from Hebrews 2:1-3 at Two Rivers Baptist Church.

Dr. McIntyre preached that as Christians we possess the gift of the grace of God. What are we doing with that gift? When we come to the end of our days we need to be certain that we have not neglected and have handled properly this wonderful gift of salvation.

Dr. McIntyre mentions the death of Dr. Robert G. Lee of Bellevue Baptist Church.

With this service Dr. McIntyre began a period of time preaching at Two Rivers Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. The sermon was on Ebenezer, the stone of help. This stone was a preacher that never spoke. A preacher that never wrote a book. A preacher that never traveled, but nevertheless a preacher across hundreds of years. Not a man but a rock - Ebenezer. This Ebenezer rock preaches to us to not stop in the Christian life until the victory is won.

The Pastoral Section of the Church Administration Department was responsible for the administration of the Shreveport National Conference on Preaching. The Church Administration Department is housed in the Church and Staff Support Division of the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and is under the direction of Dr. J. Ralph McIntyre who was asked to speak this day on the subject of doctrinal preaching for today. Dr. McIntyre emphasized the importance of pastors sharing those things that are solid and sure on which lives and destinies can be built. Pastors have the responsibility of faithfully proclaiming the Word of God.

Dr. McIntyre was appointed to his position as director of the Church and Staff Support Division because of his credentials well established as a pastor who loves people, leads them wisely, loves the Bible and declares it faithfully. Prior to his appointment he had been pastor of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 18 years.  

After 18 years as Pastor of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee Dr. McIntyre accepted the position of Director of Church and Staff Support at the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, Tennessee.

This was his first message for the Sunday School Board Chapel. After his welcoming introduction and a solo by Jacqueline Malone, Dr. McIntyre gave his message on the four spiritual boundaries. With the passage from Numbers concerning the deed of land from God to the children of Israel, Dr. McIntyre used this to bring a message on boundaries in our Christian lives and how these boundaries relate to our spiritual growth.
