👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 I find it challenging to be fully active in all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally, while avoiding unhealthy and negative behavior. And believe you me, I'm still unhealthy and getting better with the negative vibes I accept on a daily basis. I'm one of the many people focus on their day-to-day routines and obligations to the point where miss the important signs of stress that can affect my career and family. However, I'm getting better every day as I learn to get rid of that junk and create good habits.

My early life was filled with abuse, financial challenges, tragedy, and being solely responsible financially and emotionally for my mom. All this by the time I turned 13 years of age. I'm 55 now and I find less overwhelming negatives in my life. It has taken me years of dedication, hard work, and education to break the cycle and master my career and personal life. 

If you knew how long and hard I worked on my inner peace, you would understand why I choose you in my life. The first step in my journey was becoming aware of what I needed to change.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Fear is the most common reason people fail to start their own educational niche businesses online. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, or fear of losing the steady income from their day job. If  you’re scared, then know you’ve got company. I felt scared when I started last year during the pandemic. I started by gaining knowledge and skills for my mindset.

I can relate. I come from a 16 year career in voice/data networks with the worlds largest data center operator. I spent years trying to learn things like trading on Wall Street, shorting the market, binary options trading to overcome that fear and transition into the world of entrepreneurship. 

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Now, I didn't give up even after I spent $35k on a real estate 3 day mastery course which made me feel amazing as a solopreneur. There’s a good reason for all of these fears. Educators fail within the first 6 months of trying because they want to reinvent the wheel. So it’s no wonder teachers hesitate to pursue their dreams of teacherpreneurship.

No one educator is born a teacherpreneur.

It’s all about having the compulsion to be a part of something that’s bigger than yourself and being willing to do whatever it takes to find that success. Being cut out to be an teacherpreneur depends on your perspective more than anything else. It is not instant gratification. 

In my experience, as a coach, I receive plenty of questions and careful commentary about succeeding online as a teacherpreneur. I share my personal experiences to help you to get into a mindset that will ultimately free you up to find your own success.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Do you know your “why”? I had my "AHA" moment during the height of the pandemic, around August 2020. I decided to learn how to monetize my experience online with educational affiliate programs. Juts like the masses jumped online looking for teaching opportunities and how to make passive income online, I too looked at YouTube videos and sifted through the myriad of opportunities.

It truly sucks to have to find what can be an amazing offer only to fall for the old adage, if it's too good to be true, just ask and find out with relentless determination. It's important to have a firm grasp on what’s driving your "WHY".

Your purpose, in many ways, is your foundation to success. So take the time to identify the reason behind what you’re doing: 

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Whoever said that teaching abroad only means living in sub par abodes for a little money is wrong. Depending on your experience and degrees, teaching abroad is a fantastic opportunity. Savvy educators earn more than enough to pay off student debts any maybe have something left over to go traveling afterwards. 

Of course, your English teaching salary should always be balanced with the cost of living in the country you’re planning to be based in. For instance, you may get paid big bucks in UAE (one of the highest paying countries to teach English), but you’ll also spend more than a pretty penny to live there.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Another thing many teachers who want to work abroad may overlook are additional drawbacks of being employed in a foreign country. The language and cultural learning curve come at a price as well. So sometimes, the highest paying English teaching jobs can cause a case of home sickness which will be paid for with your mental health until you actually get acclimated to the nuances. This can take a couple of years for many educators.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 Throughout our lives, we go through different stages. For most of us in this educational space, there was a time when we focused on growth. We studied books, learned and tested things, and became the people we felt we needed to become. We each followed our own path.

And no matter how much time we focused on growth, after a while it got old. We started to wonder, Is there anything else? There’s got to be more. We get to that stagnation point, because growth is just half of what we need to have true fulfillment in life.

The second half of fulfillment comes from contribution.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 I want to congratulate you for taking that next step—moving beyond mere personal growth and deciding to use your life lessons to contribute and help others. I know that as you do that, you’ll become more and more fulfilled. This is one of the wonderful benefits of launching an educational niche based business and selling products and mini programs.

It all comes down to what matters the most. It is not how much money you make. It’s how many lives you impact. The money is just a cool way to keep track of what’s happening. Getting people to give you money is also one of the best ways you can hold them accountable to their goals.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 The 100 million-dollar question educators ask after they learn about education funnels is “How do you actually get students into those funnels?” I had the same question when I got started August 2020. In fact, I remember asking my mentor who is having a lot of success online, “How do you create traffic?”

He said, “Gabriel, you don’t need to create traffic, it’s already

there. People are already online. You just have to figure out how to get those people to leave where they are and come to your Facebook profile.”

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 As I started thinking about WHERE my dream customers were already congregating on Facebook. I realized that, in most cases, the people I want to serve are already in the market looking for something. And if I could present them with MY new opportunity, I could get them to leave where they were and start following me.

One of the big things I learned in my early educational affiliate days as an educator came from a mentor while I was going through the ClickFunnels experience.

My current mentor, Doug Boughton is a warm and upbeat educator, that I'm keen to model myself on. He impacted me greatly with his wonderful positive outlook and encouraging spirit. He taught me how essential it is for teachers to be positive in all they do.

👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 I remember when he told me about educators needing to be ‘flexible‘ if they were going to survive and be successful online. He also modeled the positive vibe being nurtured in online space and this spilled out to those around him. 

In our mastery group the term mindset is used extensively and the positive thinking comes through loud and clear! … but I don’t think I really understood the power in this outlook.

The important takeaway? — It’s paramount to have a positive mindset to be able to thrive as a teacher.
