Is that always the case?

A:In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

B:Is that always the case? I know plenty of men who are just as good as women.

    Is that really true?

    Is that always the case?

    Do you think so?

    (I think so.

    Do you think so?

I'm not so sure that's the case.

I'm not sure I agree with you there.

    I'm not sure that's always true.

    I'm not convinced that's the case.

I'm not so sure that's the case.

Do you think so? I'm not so sure that's the case.

A:In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

B:Do you think so? I'm not so sure that's the case.

    Is that really true?

Is that always the case?

    Do you think so?

I'm afraid I disagree with you there.

I'm sorry, I disagree with you there.

I have to say, I disagree with you.

I'm not sure I agree with you there.

    I'm not sure that's always true.

    I'm not convinced that's the case.

A:In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

B:Is that really true? In my experience, men are just as good.

    Is that always the case?

    刚刚复习的“I'm not convinced that's the case. (后半句的)“That's the case.

    Is that always the case?

    = That's the case. 变成问句—> Is that the case?

    Is that always the case?

I know plenty of men who are just as good as women.

    I know 我知道,我认识

    plenty of 很多的

    plenty of men who ...

I know plenty of men who are just as good as women.

Is that always the case? I know plenty of men who are just as good as women.

A:In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

    B:....

    I'm not convinced that's the case.

    That's the case.(就)是这样。

I'm not sure,I'm not convinced,有时我们还会用问句,表示不同意,又不会太过生硬。

In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

    in any case 无论如何,不管怎样

    at 在……方面

    these sorts of tasks

    task(s) 名词,任务,工作

    be good at 擅长

    I'm not sure that's true.

    Is that really true?

In my experience, men are just as good.

men are as good (as women)

    as...(as...)

In my experience, women are just as good (as men).

Is that really true? In my experience, men are just as good.

Is that really true? In my experience, men are just as good.

A:In any case, women are better at these sorts of tasks than men.

B:Is that really true? In my experience, men are just as good.

  • Odie

    I disagree with you.

和I'm sorry...

I'm afraid I disagree with you there.

I'm sorry, I disagree with you there.

    I have to say...

I have to say, I disagree with you.

I have to say, I disagree with you, Nick.

    I'm afraid...

    I'm sorry..

    I have to say...

I'm afraid I disagree with you there.

I'm sorry, I disagree with you there.

I have to say, I disagree with you, Nick.

    服务行业、银行、医院等常用softeners有 for me 和 at all 表示客气有礼貌。

Nurse: Could you just roll your sleeve up for me?

Person in a bank: Could you sign your name there for me?

Do you have a members' card at all?

Have you got a yearly pass at all?

Q:Could I take this chair, please?
A:I'm sorry, we're using that chair.

    Q:May I sit here?
    A:Sorry, this seat's already taken.

    - Could I take this chair, please?
    - May I sit here?
Could I take this chair, please? 比 May I sit here?

Q:Could I just take these books, please?
A:I'm afraid we need those books.

Q:Have you got a moment, Sandra – I need to ask you about something.
A:Actually, I'm a bit busy at the moment. Could we speak this afternoon?
A: If you don't mind, I'm a bit busy at the moment. Could you manage this afternoon at some point?

    Sure!
    OK.
    Yes, go ahead.
    Feel free!
    No problem!
    That's fine by me.
    Yes.
    Yes, of course.
    Certainly!
    Of course.
    Please do.
    By all means.
Help yourself!

If you don't mind, I'm a bit busy at the moment.

Could you manage this afternoon at some point?

could you manage this afternoon

Actually, I'm a bit busy at the moment. Could we speak this afternoon?

If you don't mind, I'm a bit busy at the moment. Could you manage this afternoon at some point?

(1)A:I'm sorry, we're using that chair.

(2)A:I'm afraid we need those books.

    除了I'm sorry...

Actually... 和 If you don't mind...

    actually

Have you got a moment, Sandra?

    Have you got a moment?

    = Are you busy?

= Do you have time to speak to me?

I need to ask you about something.

    I need to...

    ask you 问你

    about 关于

Have you got a moment, Sandra – I need to ask you about something.

Have you got a moment, Sandra?

I need to ask you about something.

Have you got a moment, Sandra – I need to ask you about something.

Actually, I'm a bit busy at the moment.

    a bit 有点

    a bit busy 有点忙

    at the moment 现在,此刻,目前

    Could we speak this afternoon?

Actually, I'm a bit busy at the moment. Could we speak this afternoon?
