这节课要学的“softener”是在服务行业或去医院诊所常听到的，服务行业或者医院都是需要说话很客气，工作人员常用的一个“softener”是 for me。

第一个场景

去医院打针或做检查，需要把衣服袖子卷起来，护士会说“请卷起你的袖子。”

中文还是一样，多了possibly，中文并没有多一个词出来，但是英文我们就知道，这么说更客气更有礼貌。

要说中文里当然也是有不同客气程度的表达，像：

请问我可不可以坐这把椅子呢？

每一个句子一定是离不开语境的，要看上下文。我们学的时候（只是单独一句话）“请问我可以坐这把椅子吗？”是比较标准的说法，但根据不同的上下文也可能说成“请问我能坐这把椅子吗？”等等。重要的是，我们要知道：could 比 can 更客气有礼貌，加上 possibly 比不加更有礼貌，这样就好了。
