所以，(the) beautiful people 指的是“时尚而富有的人，时髦人物”，是复数。这里的 beautiful 不是指人的外表“好看，美丽”，而是指他们的生活方式时髦，且富有，会被别人羡慕、模仿。也可能是名人。

beautiful people的这个意思最早是60年代中期时尚杂志Vogue开始使用，用来形容时尚的人。后来 Beatles（甲壳虫乐队）的歌 Baby You’re a Rich Man 的歌词里也这样用了beautiful people，进一步普及了“时尚又富有的人”这个意思。

如果遇到时髦人士，可以说：

097课讲了 suit 指“（衣服的样式或颜色）适合，相称”，当时说了如果是衣服的大小合不合适，合不合身，是另外一个词，今天就学这个词 fit。

fit 可以作动词，也可以作名词，“合适，合身，合脚”。还作形容词“合适的”。

That jacket fits you well. 那件夹克你穿着很合身。（尺寸、号码）

今天也学一个新的副词 perfectly 

That jacket fits you perfectly. 那件夹克你穿着非常/特别合身。

根据“合适”程度，最后的副词可以用 well，very well，perfectly，还有 nicely（漂亮地，恰当地……），very nicely……
