Shelley Swapp is a clinical herbalist who specializes in women's health who has gone as far as China to study how herbal medicine can be a tool for treatment. I left our conversation feeling reassured in trusting that we know what is best for our bodies and WE get to be in charge of our own health.
Herbal medicine is something that I have just started learning more about so I was beyond pumped when I connected with Shelley. And I will tell you what, she did not disappoint!

Brene Brown (all hail the queen!) says: "Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do." This rings true for about a thousand things in my life, one of them being breastfeeding.
When I entered motherhood I didn't expect to have a "story" around breastfeeding- but I do! We all do! And we need to share them- they are powerful and beautiful.
My biggest takeaways from our journey thus far (and *woof* has it been a journey at times) is that
1- You are not alone! There are other mothers who know what you are feeling and going through.
2- There are so many professionals who rock and are there to help you!
3- You are not broken if you are having struggles with breastfeeding. Your body is rad.
I tend to talk about breastfeeding a lot and love sharing other helpful tips over on instagram.

You know those mothers that just seem to "get it"? Like they just seem to have a grasp on motherhood that you don't quite yet... where every word they say you're like "Amen!" and "Preach, girl!"? Well, that's Mari David for me. I have left every conversation we have ever had feeling edified.
When I first had the idea for this podcast I KNEW that Mari had to be a guest, especially because I love the views and thoughts she has regarding adoption. Today we talk, not only about adoption and all that she has learned the process, but also about the importance of finding your tribe in motherhood.

Hey friends! To round out the month of July- which I dedicated to all things nutrition- I wanted to share our experience with Baby Led Weaning- and why we are lifetime fans!
When I first found out I was going to be a mom, I started researching ALL. OF. THE. THINGS. and food was a huge part of that. When I found Baby Led Weaning it made complete sense to me - from a developmental as well as a practical standpoint.

Today I chat with Jared McDonald, who has worked in the health and wellness industry for over a decade. He began his journey working with kids and teenagers and now works primarily with adults.
Jared was a HUGE mentor to me when I was starting my own nutrition journey almost a decade ago so I KNEW I had to have him on the show to share his knowledge. He shares some of his best tips for finding success with making dietary changes and how to navigate it all- even when it seems overwhelming!
If you learned something new or found something insightful- then please drop a 5 star review and share the episode with your friends and family! Can't wait for you to listen-- and ENJOY!

When I first started eating organic 10 years ago, I started to look into why buying organic was even necessary. As the years have gone on, I've only taken my dive deeper and woah! the history behind the need for organic food is nuts.
Today I dive into some of the history around glyphosate and the organic eating movement. I also share a few thoughts for where to start- and why it matters for our kids.
