KEY IDEAS: 

Episode# 189 features a really innovative entrepreneur.  Janice Morrow reluctantly refers to herself as an entrepreneur, but listening to her talk there is no doubt.

The story of Fair Play Brand clothing is one of the traditional ways that a business was discovered.  Going to the fair to watch her daughter and speaking to other parents involved in the fair led to an "aha moment."  It was at this moment that Janice realized that there were several clever sayings that fair people would like such as "hog wild", "on the lamb" and the less traditional "you goat girl!"

At the same time Janice was realizing this she realized that 4h and FFA people, especially at fairs, needed their own line of clothing to help them identify with each other and share what they all had in common.  Fair Play Brand Swag was born.  For a year Janice researched the production of her shirts and other products.  When she finally hit the market at a fair they sold like hotcakes.

Now Janice is expanding into more products.  And she is researching ways to help FFA students around the country use her business model and shirts to start their own businesses doing the same thing.

Zoe is the reporter for the Marsing, Idaho FFA Chapter, very close to my hometown.  She has started a breeding program for pigs in a very "non-pig" state - Idaho.  She has already penciled out how she is going to use the pig production to help her pay for college.  She has set the "SMART" goals and she is well on her way.
