This episode we've got Australian Super Coach ......Thomas Lilley!
Join Greg & Jackson "Teacup" Minge as they chat with Thomas about his early years, becoming a powerlifting coach, his coach development programme (shameless plug) and opening a PTC (now Zero Weakness) gym on the Gold coast, then Brisbane, and now in Mackay (pronounced Makai for all us Kiwis)....and he's not stopping there! Thomas is opening a 3rd gym in 2021!
From travelling around the world with his lifters to spending time with some of the most iconic names in the powerlifting world.....see if you find this little nugget in the video version of the podcast, this is not an episode to be missed!
Thomas also tells us some corny stuff about why he loves coaching ....which turns out to be not so corny, he does indeed love coaching anyone who puts 100% in.

This episode we've got British powerlifting legend Dave 'Bulldog' Beattie. Other than putting Jackson through his paces a few years back when Jackson spent time in the UK, Dave is a juggernaut of British Powerlifting, hitting just under 1000kg totals multiple WPC/BPC and GPC World & British Champs.
From a friendship with Andy Bolton to a training session with a rather well known Hollywood celeb, find out a bit more about the UK powerlifting scene, multi-ply lifting and how this old geezer spends his time these days in his iconic powerlifting gym in the heart of London.
To top things off, Greg tries Devil's Breath Smelling Salts by Kiwistrength.com and nearly fucking dies.
Special thanks to Dan Rudolph from www.kiwi-strength.com!

This episode, Jackson and Greg are joined by 5 x IPF World Champion and IPF Hall of Famer, our very own NZ powerlifting royalty, Cathy Millen!
Let that sink in for a second folks....IPF World Champion and Hall of Famer!
From 14 to 26, Cathy dominated the Powerlifting scene, walking away from the Powerlifting scene in '94 before trying her hand in Bodybuilding, then returning briefly to Powerlifting in recent years. Now semi retired....do you think we'll see a return? You'll have to watch/listen to find out!

This episode, Jackson and Greg are joined by the NZ winners of the GPCNZ International Push/Pull Competition that was held December 6th, both here in NZ and across Australia.
Wade McLean Te-Huia and Christine Henwood.
Both have been lifting for no more than 2 years and are already making a big impression on not only the local powerlifting scene, but also the international scene. Christine winning the absolute masters female award at the 2019 GPC World Champs in Slovakia along with breaking numerous national and world records across a number of federations already!
Wade towering well over 6 foot and sitting at a ‘comfortable’ competition weight of 171kg (376.2lbs) has only just started his powerlifting career, and with an easy 800kg total under his belt, we’ve not seen this young guys true potential!

This episode, Jackson, Geordie and Greg are joined by the Australia's #1 powerlifter Odell Manuel. Odell has the highest total in Australian history with a 1115kg total achieved at Big Dogs 3 in 2018, he also totalled 1050kg as a guest lifter at the GPCNZ nationals in 2015.
Odell takes us from his humble beginnings in Rugby League that saw him eventually hit the big time, playing for the NZ Warriors and the Canberra Raiders before injuries and home sickness saw him return to NZ. He then makes the trip back to Australia where he uncovers his true potential as a world class Powerlifter, only recently retiring after winning Big Dogs 4 in November of 2019, taking home over $20,000 in prize money.
Odell shares stories of lifting with the greatest powerlifters in the world, including Andre Malanichev and deadlift master Konstantīns Konstantinovs. Jackson shaves his boy beard and Greg is ridiculed for his pathetic attempts at squats.

Greg, Jackson and Hamish are joined by rising powerlifting star Ashleigh Hoeta.
Ashleigh shares her story that starts with her early years as a competitive gymnast, followed by a dark patch in her life after an injury ended her gymnastics career. How working at a trampoline park saved her life, motherhood, a brief stint with Strongwoman, and then eventually finding her calling with Powerlifting, quickly making a name for herself that includes a 580 total at the recent IPLNZ nationals and why that number is far from her best yet and why she’s doing this for her father.
Hamish tries to convince us his scooter is cool and finishes off with peppermint scented butt wipes…yes…butt wipes

Hamish is off playing on his scooter so Jackson and Greg are joined by Geordie Shields to discuss how you get started in powerlifting!
The lads cover everything from choice of gym, what to look for in a coach, what the hell a 5/3/1 plan is, do you need BCAAs, do you need to spend a fortune on the latest gear, do you need a belt, knee and wrist wraps, and who to follow on Instagram.
Despite thinking you may have heard this one before, Jackson quickly realises its not Episode one again.

Greg and Jackson are joined by legendary NZ powerlifter Steve Lousich and the current holder of the largest tested total in NZ, the mighty Joseph Whittaker.
After listening to Geordie’s 47 minute introduction last week we’re nervous how long it will take Steve to cover his powerlifting history from 1982 through to 2020, including the 175 competitions he has done…but he manages to smash out the highlights and its guaranteed we’ll have to get him back on again future episodes for more NZ powerlifting history stories.
Joe recounts his introduction to the sport and his inhumane increases in strength year on year in the early years, training with Thomas Lilley backflips at 130kg, and both he and Steve break down their efforts at the recent WP Nationals the previous weekend, including covering some of the other epic lifts from the WP lifters.
Joe and Jackson finish off with some knurling and bar fanboy discussion and both Steve and Joe share their thoughts on the current NZ powerlifting scene.
