Dave Shyiak takes over as head coach at his alma mater, Northern Michigan, a place where he was a captain for the 1991 national championship team. He has also been an assistant there in the past, but was passed over for the head coaching position the last two times it was open. Now he takes over a challenging situation, having learned a lot over the years, looking to bring his passion for the school back to help get things going back in the right direction.
