  • Besoek ‘n nuwe museumteater hierdie Erfenismaand
    ‘n Opwindende nuwe museumteater het onlangs by die Voortrekkermonument in Gauteng hul deure geopen. Museumteater aktrise, Karla Hoogendoorn sluit by Mid-Morning Magic se Yolanda Maartens aan in die OFM Kunsteklop om meer te deel.
    Hierdie museumteater vertel die verhaal van die Afrikanervrou se opstaan van 1902 tot moderne tyd. Die toeskouer word van vertrek na vertrek geneem waar die geskiedenis op ’n interaktiewe en teatrale wyse vertolk word. Die Afrikanervrou is 'n aktrise uit die Vrystaat, Bloemfontein!

  • Kimberley hosts renowned South African artist Peter E Clarke
    Chief Curator at the William Humphreys Art Gallery in Kimberley, Chepape Makgato joins Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to talk about their current exhibition featuring the works of Peter E Clarke.
    The William Humphreys Art Gallery (WHAG) is proud to present a solo exhibition of the renowned South African artist, writer and poet Peter E. Clarke (1929-2014), from the 29th of August to 31st of October 2023.

    The exhibition, titled For Some the Pathway to Education Lies Between Thorns, showcases Clarke’s linocut and woodcut prints, rarest paintings and watercolour drawings that explore the themes of education, space and social justice.

  • Applications open for Connecting Streams Festival 2024
    In the OFM Art Beat, Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens is joined by festival director Mbuyiselo Nqodi to chat about the Connecting Streams Theatre Festival planning for 2024.
     
    According to Mbuyiselo, the festival creates a platform for shows who all bagged Standard Bank Ovation Awards in 2023 and is a must see event for those who were unable to visit the National Arts Festival. Members of the community can come and enjoy these shows and celebrate local talent.
