It finally happened 27 episodes in- we have our first male vendor guest on the podcast! Photographer Garrett Richardson and I chat about being bold in following Jesus in our businesses and pushing back against the fear that stops us. If you struggle with the fear of losing out on clients if you are open about your faith, this episode is for you!
Garrett shares what a study abroad trip in college has to do with his pursuit of photography and his wife, how photographing weddings impacts his own marriage, and what moment from his own wedding has stuck with him over the years.
We also take a deep dive into parenting - watching the parents of our couples who have raised their kids well into adulthood, how parenting has changed us spiritually, and what kind of relationship He wants with his own kids.

Kate also shares about her journey with control and anxiety while being a new mom during Covid, and leaning into God's provision when we just let go and remember it's not all up to us.

April is flower month on the podcast and first up we have Grace Nguyen, owner and floral designer with DaisyDaisy Florals in California. Grace shares how the Holy Spirit prompting her to work at a coffee shop led to her floral business, and how God knows us better than we know ourselves. She also shares why she thinks flowers are God's love language to us, along with her personal favorite flowers.
We chat about what a florist does after the wedding reception is over (if you aren't a vendor it might surprise you) and her number one piece of advice for brides when booking a floral designer for their wedding. Grace also shares her philosophy of "people over profit," and what she's learning about God as our ultimate provider. She shares so much wisdom for being so young - I was inspired by a lot of what she had to say and I know you will be too.

Today's episode is with photographer Caroline Howard of Caroline Ro Photography. She and I chat about all things related to life as a solopreneur - loneliness, the importance of community, and healthy work habits for yourself when no one else is there to hold you accountable. I asked her about her solo business retreat and what that entails (I want to do one myself now!), and she shares her heart behind serving clients and their families (she's a pro- she has gotten recommended in the same friend group for 16 couples!). We also discuss the photos people will want 50 years from now...and spoiler, it's not their table linens. ;)
I think you will love today's episode with Allie Barham of Beckon Events! We chat about helping couples enjoy the entire wedding planning experience (not just the wedding day), being an unofficial therapist to clients, and how wedding planning is a lot like building a house. Allie shares how she creates work/life boundaries in her own schedule to spend time with her family, and how we can trust God to have our best in mind when it comes to our bookings.
