It's week 2 of our three week series on resistance. We hope you've been learning as much as we have from our guests. This week, we're having John Caleb Pendleton of @planksandpistils on to talk about the dignity of blackness, and how flowers have played an integral role on his journey of self-acceptance. No cap, we laughed and cried throughout this whole recording, and it's such an honor to share it with you now. Also, stay tuned for our pop diva corner where we explore our complex feeling about Rihanna losing to Taylor earlier this week.

We are excited to share with you that we're starting a series exploring different facets of resistance. We understand resistance to be the ways we free ourselves from bondage to patriarchy, white supremacy, and colonialism. Our teachers and guides out of this bondage must always be BIPOC, but this is a journey to which all people are invited. Our first exploration is with Mary Beth Johnson, a chronically ill food blogging Chapina who works in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago to teach young people about food justice and holistic nutrition. In her words, she has created her own masters' curriculum of food anthropology, soul care, justice, storytelling, earth care, ancestral eating and cooking. We LOVED talking to her about this topic, and can't wait for you to learn more as you listen along. We've will update with several resources so be on the look out for that!
This week we're definitely having tea time as we talk about Harry and Megan's interview with Oprah, and spill some tea of our own about what it's been like for us to start this podcast. If you haven't followed us on Instagram @ohtellmemorepod, you're really missing out – we've started a March Madness Pop Diva Bracket, and we would love to have you weigh in on which musician is the Pop Diva of 2021! Share with a friend for more fun, and to help us out as we're starting this vulnerable endeavor of having a podcast.
After a week off, we're back and FULL of takes from the last month of pop culture. We're introducing one of our recurring episodes : We Tell You! Where we tell you more about what's been going on in our landscapes - everything from pop culture to politics. This month, we're reviewing the Golden Globes, talking about Kimye's divorce and Ted Cruz's travel itinerary.
It wouldn't be March without a little MADNESS, right!? Since neither of us are super sports people, we decided to do a pop diva bracket instead, and we want YOU to come along for the ride! Be sure to have your friends follow us on instagram @ohtellmemorepod so that you can join in on daily polls. Help us figure out which pop diva truly reigns supreme.
