Every year at the ASA Western Region Paris Am/am "Red River Shootout" the states part of the Western Region get together for a Friday night dinner and induct members into the Hall of Fame. This year our 2 Oklahoma Inductees were Kent Chesser and Scott Shields. Both of these gentlemen are ambassadors to the sport of archery and highly involved in the ASA. It was an honor to not only induct them but to have them join us on the Oklahoma Archery Podcast to discuss in more detail their archery origins and talk a little shop. Taylor fresh off his 3rd place Redding Trail Shoot finish and then backed it up with another podium finish at his first ever 3D shoot. The conversation goes all over from owning property in Oklahoma and California. He is shooting the new Hoyt Concept X and we go down a rabbit hole of talking about tiller tuning. Ty is a returning guest on the show. Shop owner, hunter, and accomplished tournament shooter he is always great to talk with. This show goes different directions. We talk about his shop, this last weekend of him shooting TAC and ASA. Some how we get into different ways people hold the pin on a target. This started the thought of a bigger dot verse a small dot. Bobby Johnson is the range captain for Tulsa Archery Association as well as the Shot the 3D (our local TAC style events). TAA has cut some new lanes for the upcoming ASA qualifier.
