Oklahoma Archery

We set down with Oklahoma's recent winner of our State 900 Championship, Kyle Anderson. We briefly roll through that and cover Kyle's Darton Archery bow setups. His plans for upcoming tournaments and any equipment changes he will need. Several other tidbits of information along with some tournament information. This was quick one since Kyle and Neil had to get ready for a Tuesday league night.

This episode dropped all kinds of bombs with new arrows. Chris is a rep for Victory Arrows, and dozens of other brands. He builds a great picture of what reps, shops, and the archery community needs to do to help strengthen up to move forward. So much we covered I can't even list it all here.

This episode we are talking with Brook Storts. She is a Darton Archery staff shooter that has won all across the country. She shares her setup of equipment and gives us some insight of what her plans for 2025 looks like for her. Listen in and see if you grab some of those golden nuggets of expertise she shares.

This week we invited on 2 guest that tore it up on the outdoor shooting world. First off we visit with Landry Loar while we he talks about the hard fought battle this year in his class. He gives you his run down on his equipment and plans for next year. Then we visit with Rhett Wood a bright young man that is not afraid of shooting with the big boys. He has proven that all year long. We ask Rhett about his equipment along with his shooting this last weekend. Listen in to hear our future shooters of Oklahoma Archery.

We have a special guest today, we are visiting with Josh Smith. He is a co-founder of RamRods Archery. They make and build products "...that make the shooters performance better". Josh comes from a shooting background that took him thru being an RA at the Olympic training center. Speaking from experience, the first shot I took with these bars I knew they were different. Ty Dameron returns to the show and we talk about his African safari hunt he did a few weeks ago. Also he pleads with everyone to get to your local shop and get finalized for this years season. Of coarse we talk a little ASA 3D shoot. Listen in for a fun filled show.

We welcome Greg Thompson on the show to talk about his recent win in the Oklahoma Triple Crown. We cover his set up and the shoot itself. Rolling into just a great all around archery conversation. We hit on the Olympics, indoor archery, a calendar of events for August, then right at the very end Neil hangs up on us. Whats up with that?

Everyone knows Neil is our new ASA State Rep for 2024. Before he gets to his 1 year anniversary he pulls together the ASA shooters and shows the ASA Federation office some staggering numbers with shooter count, range sign ups, and memberships. He goes on to let everyone know that this has been a team effort from all the host ranges, friends, family, and fellow shooters.

He does take time to talk a little for next year and what it will look like. He brings up that this year isn't quite done, because they still have a directors meeting nationally and he is organizing a Oklahoma State wide meeting in September. The 2024 Paris Olympics are just a few day away from starting. We bring in our friend Tom Stevenson. Owner of ArcheryPath.com, Coach of Oklahoma Storm Joad team, active Male Recurve Olympic shooter, and winner of countless national awards. We asked Tom to break down what olympic equipment is, practice routines, how you must qualify, what the athletes go thru, and what we will be watching during the Paris events.

After this Neil and I talk about this weeks ASA State Championship being held at the OKC Gun Club.

We were honored to have Rick Gilley on the show for a second time. Recently Rick traveled to the NFAA Midwest Trail Classic and finished top of the podium with first place. He made a last minute bow change and the confidence he took with him was huge. Followed up the next weekend with ASA Metropolis IL.
