You probably know Lazarus Lake creator of the Barkley Marathon and Big’s Backyard. Meet the man behind the races who grew up running in Tennessee, has run across the United States and found the fun in creating his own, unique races. In 2018, he ran from Newport, Rhode Island to Newport, Oregon. In 2020 he had over 19,000 people join his races virtually.

Acclaimed children’s book author Kim Chaffee joins us to talk about her introduction to 261Fearless, her book on Kathrine Switzer’s historic Boston Marathon, what it took to finish Boston herself, and how she came to love running along the way. Alastair Walker returned to running after a 22 year hiatus. In 2018, he took the World Masters Gold Medal in the 10,000 meter race and the Bronze Medal in the 5000 meter race for the 60-65 age group. The number of gold medals he's taken in the UK and Europe are too many to count. Here are some of his times from 2019: 5K in 16:50 and a 10K in 34:56, all in his 60s. We discuss getting older, staying fast and the best post-run beverages.
