  • 124. Fear Of Becoming Decrepit. Part 1

Do you ever feel invincible? I used to feel that too and was living a very happy and fulfilling life with purpose before there was a pain I started feeling. And that was just the start.

This episode is a little different and instead of interviewing a special guest, I'm the one being interviewed.

In this episode, my very special friend, Kevin Monaghan joins us and interviews me on the "Fear Of Becoming Decrepit" which I got while being operated on for an Ostomy, which is a surgery to create an opening (stoma) from an area inside the body to the outside.

The last months have been tough and slow but I see a light of hope at the end of the tunnel and I'm back stronger than ever.

This is the first part of the two-part interview and we discuss what I went through and how everything started. When I first noticed that I needed help and the fear of becoming decrepit came into my mind.

We also went through the procedure, how everything went with the doctors and how was the recovery process like.

We also discuss topics like mortality and how much less time we have on this earth. This, and a lot more in the episode. Join us in the discussion.

A bit about me (Dr. Orest Komarnyckyj):

Dr. Orest Komarnyckyj enjoyed a prestigious career as a periodontal regenerative surgeon moving to a new passion in June 2018. He retired after a 33-year career to pursue new passions. At 69 Dr. Orest has taken on a new role as an Interviewer, Podcaster and government-certified Old Guy. He streams from his new home in Las Vegas, NV. He lives with his wife of 29 years, Oksana. His status as an empty-nesters with two out of college-employed children has left him with time and energy to share decades of successes, failures, and wisdom.

We also discuss a serious topic of male suicide and why it's so high in new dads.

Moreover, we'll also be discussing how to act as a father on a day-to-day basis and how to raise our children right. And challenges of being a father.

We also chat about the current society and how people view masculinity as a bad thing and what our stances are on that.

All this, and more in the episode.

    A bit about Marco Carluchi:

Marco was born and raised in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Growing up there gave him the itch to explore the world outside of his small town so as soon as he could get out on his own, that’s exactly what he did! As a teenage boy growing into manhood with raging hormones, it wasn’t easy being stuck in one place for too long without any way to release them or anyone around who shared similar feelings about life

Dads around the world have different experiences as they become fathers. This blog hopes to open up dads’ minds and hearts so that they can understand one another better across cultures, countries, genders, races, etc.

  • 118. Learn To Protect Yourself With Andy & Michelle Cassady

Today's podcast episode is all about self-defense with Andy and Michelle Cassady who believes that black belt leaders are made, not born. Their mission is to teach others to become black belt leaders and future leaders in society.

In the episode, I asked about their journey so far. What got them into self-defense, their motivation, and what drives them to teach this crucial thing.

They also shared their experience of training adults and kids, what's the difference between them, and the reasons they join their self-defense classes.

I also shared a short story about how my daughter dealt with a bully without raising her hand and also touched a bit on why it's important for women in this day and age to learn self-defense.

They teach Royce Gracie Self Defense Jiu-Jitsu which covers everything from situational awareness, stand-up self-defense, ground self-defense, as well as weapons defense. We touched on today's politically correct world and a bit about trusting your instincts and how those instincts can sometimes save you from trouble.
