  • OLIVIA -THE ART OF LIVING
"Julia" manifests from the other side to revisit Olivia Wilder Times tonight! (We hope.) Not sure how long she will last, as it's taken her 3 weeks to recoup her strength from her last manifestation! But she has sent word that she will, in fact, "appear." Wonder what she's been cooking up- and for whom? Last time it was Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Liberace, and other "colorful" characters.
And tonight I am pleased to have a special listener co-host, Mimilee, whom you may remember talked fried chicken with Julia last time. Tonight we are talking about it! All things FAT (except us!). Why fat is good, why we love it, why we're not going to give it up, and what fatty foods we love the most. It's a FAT FEST!
Remember: FAT is not a 4-letter word! :-)

  • TOP CHEF'S CARLA HALL
SPECIAL TIME TONIGHT- one hour earlier.
Carla was a fan favorite in season 5 of Bravo television's TOP CHEF, which concluded on February 25th, with Hosea and the seemingly-arrogant Stefan battling it out to Hosea's victory.
Those of us who squirmed and screamed at our television sets watching Carla defer to TC season 3 contestant, Casey's idea of serving a sous vide beef, which when combined with Carla's curdled blue cheese souffle proved to be Carla's swan song will be as anxious as I am to find out: "WHY?"
Carla is the chef and owner of Alchemy Caterers in Washington, D.C. Her food balances the heart and soul of the South and the refinement of her classic French training. She enjoys creating memorable comfort dishes with fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. Carla approaches each event as an opportunity to make a connection with the client and to change the way they experience food. She always has good European butter, Couverture chocolate, bacon, heavy cream, olive oil - pomace and extra virgin - on hand and pies are one of her favorite things to make.

  • JERRY DOUGLAS - GENOA CITY PATRIARCH
Jerry Douglas was a "The Young And The Restless" staple as the patriarch of one of two key families in Genoa City, the Abbott's, from 1985 through 2008, and to viewer's delight, has even returned both from "the beyond," and as Alistair, a John Abbott lookalike ne'r-do-well.
The veteran actor has been seen in many films throughout his career, such as "Mommie Dearest," with Faye Dunaway, and "JFK." He is also a singer, and we'll be talking about his CD, "The Best Is Yet To Come," playing a cut or two, and life after over twenty years in Genoa City.

  • ILAN HALL TOP CHEF WINNER
**THERE IS A PART 2 TO THIS SHOW**
"TOP CHEF" FANS UNITE! This Sunday's "Art Of Living" I am happy to have Ilan Hall, winner of "TOP CHEF" season 2. He won over Marcel Vigneron, with his angula (eel) dish with green tomato caviar, pan seared moi, grilled squab and whole shrimp with lobster sauce, beef short rib with romesco, and balls of fresh fruit with a bay leaf fritter for dessert. While the flavors he used were nearly entirely Spanish, (his specialty), Ilan said all of the produce used was Hawaiian. He described the meal as "a reflection" of who he is.
As a teenager, Ilan worked at Marine Fishery, a seafood store in his hometown of Great Neck, Long Island, and was later trained at Italy's Lorenzo de Medici Apicus Program and at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). He attended the CIA at the same time as his Top Chef runner-up Marcel Vigneron. At the time of his season two Top Chef competition, Ilan was a line cook at Casa Mono, a Spanish restaurant in Manhattan. In the final competition of the program he stated that there was no preconceived notion in the preparation of his Spanish dishes.
As of 2008, Hall lives in Los Angeles, California
Please note: You must be registered as a BTR listener and signed in to chat live or to phone in to 347-215-7536 with a question or comment for Ilan.

  • OLIVIA- CHRIS HARDWICK
You know Chris Hardwick, self-described "Nerdist," from TV. He says, "You don’t realize that’s where you know me from, but it is. You think you went to college with me or I look like your cousin’s friend, but that is not the case. At one time or another you stumbled across me on your moving picture box in such cerebral gems as MTV’s Singled Out and Noam Chomsky’s Shipmates. I was also in House of 1000 Corpses, which you were afraid to see because horror films make you pee a little. I made an appearance in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which you may be somewhat reluctant to give me credit for, because I was only in a couple of scenes and I was not a robot." This clearly establishes that Chris has the ability to make us smile.
Chris writes for Wired Magazine and reviews gadgetry for "Attack of the Show" on the G4 Network. He also provides voices for talking animals on "Chop Socky Chooks" on Cartoon Network and "Back at the Barnyard" on Nickelodeon, and is a fan favorite performing stand-up in various venues, as well as sitting in on the Roundtable on "Chelsea Lately," on the E! network now and then.
His sharp mind and often wry sense of humor is summed up in the last line of his own "about" from his website: "Thank you for giving this page two minutes of your life that you will never get back."
