Think of Basketball one fully inflated and another deflated. One has the bounce and the other has none! Fully inflated basketball represents man as originally intended him to be. The deflated basketball represents the man after fall. He has lost his bounce. If our life is without bounce the fix is simple, get some more air inside, be filled with Holy Spirit!

We are familiar with the words of our Lord from the cross, "My God, My God why have you forsaken me?". We may be familiar with verse 3,"yet you are Holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel". But we may not be knowing that this verse paves the way for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It shows his reliance on God the father and His ability to honour the covenant while he acknowledged His holiness while undergoing the cross.

Jesus challenged Philip to feed the crowds. Philip started to count the cost and they did not have the money for it nor it will be easy to buy bread in such large quantity in such a short time. But Jesus knew what he wanted to do. Often, His challenge usually is to test our understanding of Himself and how much we trust Jesus. Before the bread is multiplied it has to be broken. That is the key to understanding the power of Resurrection. As we appropriate the power of Resurrection we will begin to multiply. It is impossible to remain sterile if His power is residing in us.

Judas Iscariot placed a value of 30 silver coins. The same man valued the very expensive Spikenard Ointment at 300 denarii. The lords of Philistines each promised to give 1100 silver coins if they get to know the real secret to Samson's strength altogether 5,500 silver coins. Joseph was sold for 20 silver coins. In more than 1000 years not much inflation just an increase of 10 silver coins. If we value at 30 silver coins a price of a slave no wonder we will end up selling him. If Jesus Christ is the Lord who died to redeem our soul, to give eternal life, to restore the image of God in us, to restore the dominion we have lost in Adam, How then should we worship Him. Even Satan placed a higher value, by promising all the kingdoms and their glory. But he cannot give himself to God. We can do better than the Devil. Let us give ourselves to Jesus Christ and worship Him worthily.

The Lord has spoken and said He will call nations to give an account and judge them righteously. Historically the Lord takes vengeance on robbery, slave trade etc. He punishes the nations. Joel has denounced the sins of Judah and explained that the locusts are a judgement of God on them. Now, even though the Lord used other nations to punish Judah, He is paying back judgement to them for not treating His people, His land without any mercy and treating them like chattels. He is calling nations to assemble so that he can judge them. It is similar to battle of Armageddon in Revelation and the battle described in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

Blood and fire and billows of smoke v30 of Joel chapter 2: these words sound more like war, killing etc. The word billows is translated pillar, column etc. The original Hebrew word is "timarah". The root word is "tomer" which means date palm tree. The tree trunk appears like a pillar, or a column with leaves spread out and it resembles the mushroom. The picture is pretty close to mushroom cloud from a volcanic eruption or aftermath of a nuclear explosion.

Jesus is the Lord of revival! The Apostle Peter explained what the people were witnessing as something which was foretold by Joel. Jesus himself says in the gospel of John chapter 14 that "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever." This is not the only time Jesus asked and Pentecost happened! Every time there is a revival he is looking for those people who love Him and obey Him so that he can ask the Father to pour out the Spirit. If you fulfil the above criteria you will not live like an orphan.
