On Air Book Fair

You'd think this podcast wouldn't be so difficult to schedule and produce regularly.

CRIVENS?! This week we're starting our first Pratchett Diskworld book and debut of child witch Tiffany Aching, The Wee Free Men. It's full of that great wordplay humor and a scathingly realistic view of teaching as a profession.

What is earthsea? Are there wizards there? What kind of shadow people lay beyond the veil? Is Ursula K Le Guin really the based feminist we know her as? It's gonna take 3 cis men to find out!

Another long hiatus but we're back as ever doing the same old stuff. Legendborn continues and romance becomes perfectly T R I A N G U L A R.

Music is Nostalgia by Brian Altano

New Artwork is by Zeichenelster.

This week, we review all the books we read in our first year of a podcast. Miles set up an excessively complex bracket for us to play our own March Madness. I don't follow basketball but boy do we follow our own dumb book club. Which weird book will we crown champion of the Book Fair? Find out

Happy Black History Mon--wait what's the date? This week the white boys get back to analyzing microaggressions plainly spelled out for our oblivious pale life experiences. Brianna Matthews delves deeper into the world of the Legendborn and the weirdass anglo-American mythologies that implies.

Whuff, it's the tail end of Black History Month, which means I'm finally getting around to uploading the first episode of our read of the award-winning Legendborn by Tracy Deonn! Time for 3 white boys to talk about the experience of growing up a black woman in the South. But with magic too!

We had one big record, I split it up, it's a mess. This podcast is a mess. Anyway, here's the last of House of the Scorpion. Will upload the first section of Legendborn just after and hopefully this time get it right.

I put this off way too long! And I fucked up the pt 3 recording! Hey, you'll get a re-record of that alongside the first part of our next book: Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

Content Warning: Child Abuse and a bunch of other stuff yikes.

Finally got this dang episode out, it's the new year so let's get sad about clone boy! House of the Scorpion is one of those Good Books that were released for the young teen age range, full of sociopolitical questions about greed, empire, dehumanization, and sweet sweet opium.

Great work. If you've got anything to say to us, anything at all, send an email to [email protected] or on twitter @onairbookfair.
