Noah chats about his childhood and tells us that both of his parents grew up in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Noah also discusses his close bond with his father and how terrifying it was when he found out that he was diagnosed with cancer.
Noah was a very active child and enjoyed playing many sports as a kid…hockey of course, was his favorite! In this episode he speaks openly about his love for playing pond puck with his neighborhood friends and dressing up as Batman!
10 minutes in - Noah discusses the importance of health, longevity, and keeping the body “feeling good” as a professional athlete… he learned some of this mantra from Tom Brady— an athlete he grew up watching right in New England.
Noah discusses his time as a Calgary Flame and what it was like being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes, after playing college hockey at Boston College.

Who is Bill Parcells? He coached the New England Patriots during the 90s. Max describes Coach Parcells as a “disciplinarian”, and although he was “scared” coming in as a rookie to the Patriots….he knew his training would not be much different than his time spent at the Naval Academy. Hear Max chat about coach Parcells and owner Bob Kraft.
Max enjoyed his years playing for the Patriots. In this episode he details his great friendships with fellow former teammates like Scott Zolak…apparently Zolak enjoyed making funny caricatures of teammates in the locker room!
Max also describes what it was like playing alongside the talented former star Patriots QB, Drew Bledsoe. According to Lane, Bledsoe was less concerned with getting “hit” or hurt and always more concerned with the outcome of the final play.
Did you know Max went to a Superbowl in 1996?- That game was played in New Orleans. They lost to the Green Bay Packers and Max details how tough it was covering Reggie White.

Norborne is the soybean capital of the world, and Max said one of his fondest memories was attending the yearly soybean festival each summer with his family.
