Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk is back from a quick break away for Christmas. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas with your families and thank you for coming back to the show. 

Unfortunately, the Edmonton Oilers did not bring some holiday cheer to homes in the capital city, after dropping a 5-2 decision to the Vancouver Canucks. The worst part about it all was that they had a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. It quickly all fell apart for the Oilers as they now sit in 4th in the Pacific Division. What went wrong? Tyler will talk about it on today's show.

While the Oilersnation staff were at SOHO celebrating Christmas on Wednesday, the Edmonton Oilers put together arguably their best performance of the season. They were on the road versus the Dallas Stars, who sit atop of the Central Division, and managed to come from behind three times to win the game 6-3. Jay Woodcroft shook up the lines, splitting up Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, and it worked perfectly.

Tonight, the Oilers are back on home ice to faceoff against the Vancouver Canucks, who they haven't played since their season opener. The Canucks did win last night versus the Seattle Kraken; however, in their previous two games, they were defeated 5-1 on both occasions by the St Louis Blues and the Winnipeg Jets. 

With that, today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday will be a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game edition. Jay Downton will be around with Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin to preview the action down at Rogers Place. 

Also, like he does every Friday, Baggedmilk joins the show for the Bro Down! We'll chat with him about his boy Ryan Nugent-Hopkins plus much more surrounding the Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers snapped their three game losing streak last night, defeating the Dallas Stars 6-3 on the road. Many mistakes have cost the Oilers wins recently; however, last night's game was one of their best of the season. Edmonton shook up the lines separating Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman from the top line. With that, Jay Woodcroft's men showed up with eleven players contributing to the scoring. 

The biggest stands were the line of Mattias Janmark, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Klim Kostin. The three of them combined for eight points on the night, with three of them being goals. Could this be a dangerous line moving forward for Edmonton? We'll talk about it on today's show along with how the other three lines worked out.

Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers have a chance to put the last three games behind them when they take on the Dallas Stars. While the Oilers have struggled to find consistency all season, the Stars have been cruising at the top of the Central Division with a record of 19-8-6. Jason Robertson is their lead man, who is having a career season with 47 points (24 goals, 23 assists) in 33 games this season. 

On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk, Jay Downton will join the show for the Sherwood FORD Giant Pre Game Show. They will breakdown what the Oilers need to do to grab the two points tonight in their keys to victory. 

Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will also join the show for his weekly segment. They will talk to him about some possible trade targets for the Edmonton Oilers, including Vladislav Gavrikov from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tyler and Jay will also ask Frank about other rumours swirling around the NHL.

The Nashville Predators handed the Edmonton Oilers their third loss in a row after Alexander Carrier scored the overtime winner. The Oilers have had a tough run recently, but it has not been due to being played out of the rink. The losses are coming from self-inflicted wounds, costing them two points. 

On today's show, Tyler Yaremchuk will recap what happened in last night's loss on the road to the Predators. He will talk about his three big takeaways from the matchup, presented by Cornerstone Insurance, along with the play of Jack Campbell and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. 

Tom Gazzola will also stop by for his second visit to Oilersnation Everyday. With Tom, we will talk with him about the Oilers recent run of games, what Edmonton needs to do to win, and other hot topics surrounding the team. 

At the show's end, Liam Horrobin will join and give out his Betway bets of the day for tonight's NHL slate.

It was a game of mistakes by the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday which caused them to lose 4-3 to the Anaheim Ducks, a bottom dweller in the NHL. That is now two games in a row that the Oilers have shot themselves in the foot costing themselves two points. 

Tonight, the Oilers have to put thaose mistakes behind them when they face the Nashville Predators. The game is back in Nashville and, as we all know, Leon Draisaitl owns the city of the Nashville. 

Later in the show, Tyler Yaremchuk will be joined by Reid Schaefer, the Oilers first round pick from the 2022 NHL Draft. Schaefer is currently at Team Canada's camp ahead of the World Juniors in Halifax. Tyler spoke to him about being drafted by his hometown team, how his career has taken off and the nickname "Ginger Beef." 

Finally, we will talk about Stuart Skinner's new deal with the Edmonton Oilers which will keep him around for three more years.

The final 15 minutes of last night's hockey game were absolute chaos. Unfortunately for the Edmonton Oilers, it was not the good kind of chaos which sees them score late and collect the two points. Last night, everything went wrong for them, which resulted in the St Louis Blues going home with the win. 

Of course, the big talking points were Darnell Nurse's turnover late, which turned into the game tying goal with 19 seconds left, and Leon Draisaitl's overtime goal, which was overturned for being offside. Today on Oilersnation Everyday, we will go deep into both of those situations and we want to hear your take on them both.

The Edmonton Oilers are back at Rogers Place tonight and, in their last few home games, things have started to get better for the Copper and Blue. The Oilers have won two in a row on home ice, and three of their last four, and tonight they will look to keep that home streak alive when they host the St Louis Blues. 

The last time the Blues were in town it was a Saturday afternoon snooze fest. St Louis won the game 2-0 with one of those goals being an empty netter. Jack Campbell had a solid game that afternoon stopping 20 of 21 shots and finishing with a 0.952 save percentage. Despite that, Stuart Skinner gets the start between the pipes for Jay Woodcroft's Oilers. 

Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff will join today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday. We will talk with him about the rumours surrounding Jesse Puljujarvi, updates on the NHL's salary cap and what is going to happen with Bo Horvat in Vancouver.

Last night, Leon Draisaitl was re-elected as the Mayor of Smashville, after putting together his second five point game versus the Nashville Predators this season. The Oilers forward now had 35 points (22 goals, 13 assists) against the Predators in 21 career games, which is incredible. Draisaitl was not the only player to put up big numbers last night with Zach Hyman scoring his first career hat trick and Connor McDavid grabbing four points for himself. 

It was not an ideal start between the pipes for Jack Campbell, who allowed the first shot of the game to beat him. However, the Oilers netminder bounced back making some big saves to finish with a .906 save percentage and his 8th win of the season.

The Edmonton Oilers lost a tight one last night on the road versus the Minnesota Wild. Their biggest struggle was generating offensive scoring chances, producing only 21 shots on goal. They did manage to get one by Marc-Andre Fleury, who was between the pipes for the Wild, when Zach Hyman banked home the rebound to tie the game up at one. Unfortunately for Edmonton, Frédérick Gaudreau scored the game winner for Minnesota in the second period to give them a 2-1 win. 

Tonight, the Oilers will look to get back in the win column as they head to Nashville to take on the Predators. Of course, one storyline that rules them all when Edmonton faces Nashville is that Leon Draisaitl completely owns them. In 21 games, Draisaitl has 30 points, with 20 of those being goals. In their last game versus the Predators, the Oilers superstar had a five-point night with a goal and four assists. 

We teased it yesterday, but today Jay Downton will join the Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game show live from Nashville. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be around to prepare you for tonight's Oilers game.
