Florida State signed 15 high school commitments and added transfer quarterback McKenzie Milton through the first day of the Early Signing Period. The Seminole coaching staff isn't done yet. The 2021 recruiting cycle ends in February and the staff would like to add a few key pieces before then.
During this episode of On The Bench, Josh Newberg, Chris Nee & Brendan Sonnone recap all the action from Wednesday and discuss what FSU's remaining needs are.
Tune in for all the inside scoop:
For the Florida State fans wanting to know more about transfer QB McKenzie Milton, we have you covered here on On The Bench.
Three KZ experts -- Andrea Adelson of ESPN, Jason Beede of Knights247 and UCF play-by-play announcer Marc Daniels -- join us to share their experiences covering Milton and how they think the Milton-FSU relationship will work.
Plus Josh Newberg fills us in on what we’re looking for as the Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday.
McKenzie Milton is coming to Florida State.
And the recruiting floodgates are open at Auburn after the firing of Gus Malzahn.
On The Bench dives into these two developments and what they mean for Florida State in an emergency pod. It’s a frenzied, fun episode as the Seminoles celebrate a run of good news.
It was a strange game for FSU after the long hiatus. The Seminoles (3-6, 2-6 ACC) looked rejuvenated and explosive to start the game. Duke (2-9, 1-9 ACC) showed some fight, but the 'Noles dominated in a 56-35 win on Saturday night.
The Seminoles got off to a fast start, teetered on the brink of a collapse, and then recovered to pour in on the Blue Devils. The crew at Noles247 gives their thoughts just minutes after the game came to an end.
The 'Noles are scheduled to travel to Wake Forest next Saturday, although that game will be contingent on FSU having enough players healthy and available for the contest.
On The Bench gets the episode going with the latest on McKenzie Milton after Noles247 briefly caught up with the transfer QB prospect. Then we delve into some of the latest developments on the recruiting trail for Florida State.
This includes evaluating the commitment of Patrick Payton, the loss of Malik McClain and what’s next at wide receiver.
Plus we take listener questions.
Michael Alford brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Seminole Boosters.
The head of Florida State’s booster structure is utilizing his extensive background -- with stops at Central Michigan as the athletic director, the Dallas Cowboys as the senior director for corporate partnerships, and Alabama as the director of sports marketing -- to spearhead a cultural shift within the organization.
From exploring ways to expand fundraising, to having input in future buildings for athletics, to streamlining the communication between the booster side and athletic department...Alford has a ton of work to do.
Alford sits down with On The Bench to introduce himself and share his vision for Seminole Boosters and FSU athletics.
Florida State’s quarterback recruiting took an interesting turn last week as McKenzie Milton (UCF grad transfer) and four-star Jake Garcia both emerged on the radar for the Seminoles.
On The Bench gets you caught up on these two developments. Plus Newberg -- fresh off an apparent ruptured Achilles -- drops a crystal ball while recording. And we go over some key recruiting items and Nee recaps FSU’s 1-0 hoops team.
Florida State has seen three players opt out since Sunday: Asante Samuel Jr., Jaiden Lars-Woodbey, and La’Damian Webb.
The latter sent FSU’s fan-base into a tizzy for about a day, although Webb’s status has since been clarified. But the run of opt-outs and the concern from the fan base prompted On The Bench to break out a semi-emergency podcast.
In addition to going over the reasoning for the attrition, we provide some positivity with a fun interview with Brian Allen. The former standout FSU linebacker is currently the head coach at Lake City Columbia, home of recent commit Shyheim Brown. Allen breaks down Brown’s game, his recruitment and why he thinks FSU is getting a steal.
What a perfect time for Florida State basketball to tip off their 2020-2021 season! Josh Newberg & Chris Nee of Noles247 reflect on last year's ending and look ahead at what's to come.
There are several fresh faces that you need to know, including the top recruit in the history of FSU basketball under Leonard Hamilton -- guard Scottie Barnes. We run down the roster and talk newcomers, starters, sixth man and more.
Get ready for an exciting season of FSU hoops, it's expected to be another fun run, hopefully ending in a National Championship!
On The Bench is back on a busy Monday. FSU’s season is on the brink of cancelation after the Virginia game was canceled over the weekend and the upcoming game against Duke this weekend has already been canceled.
The crew at Noles247 breaks it all down and tells you what it means for the Seminoles.
In other big news today — FSU’s top rated commitment QB Luke Altmyer has decommitted. He’s likely headed to Ole Miss. We discuss how this happened and what is next for FSU recruiting.
